Maybe you’re right. But I’m just highly skeptical, especially with the Engrish. Yeah, maybe the composer of the game wanted to capture part of Deadpool’s random essence by making a retarded Engrish rock song. Or maybe he was just told to make a “cool rock song that Americans will like.” After the colossal fuck-up of Captain America’s theme and “M-A-G-N-E-T-O”, I just can’t put the latter out of my head. None of the other tracks I’d call “clever” or “inspired.”
No offense, but if you think Deadpool’s theme was supposed to be serious, then your head is way too far up your ass.
Considering Deadpool’s level 3 involves extreme engrish (“Feel the love of the hyper combo! This is the hyper combo!”) it’s obvious it’s a play on videogames. And hell, it’s Deadpool.
IMO Deadpool’s theme fails simply because it is too original and not pop culture enough.

Deadpool’s theme would have been better if it just wasn’t Engrish. But a remix of Coconut would have been cooler, no doubt.
That’s my main problem (and suspicion) of it. And the fact that some of the other music is really really bad.
Luckily there are these things called a mute button…or putting your own music on, or hell, just killing the people with “bad” themes.
There should be an unchangeable option to just play MODOK’s theme every match the entire match.

Deadpool’s theme reminds me of Mindless Self Indulgence. And actually, those dudes haven’t done a damn thing in forever. Maybe they make fightmusic now.
