I don’t know how well this would work, but I guess Sony now fixes them for free-ish, so if you haven’t messed around with the warranty sticker, maybe you can give it a try. There’s a “Disc Read Error Sony Repair” faq on gamefaqs that talks about Sony fixing it for free-ish.
well after trying out that link i put earlier… my damn ps2 still gets DRE’s on blue discs… as i put the ps2 back together, i tried the tape technique (put inch of tape above and below the cd center) and the game actually worked… but now i have voided my warrenty… GGPO
Its not voided. If you get any hassle from Sony, just tell them to play a dinner match with you. From there, just let teh scorekeeper do all the work
