Winnipeg!!! Bring it to Winnipeg…
I am clearly asking ppl what needs to be done what how big of a feat it actually is, hence the question mark.
time, effort, commitment, responsibility
running a tournament is no easy feat.
The timing is what hurts the most. A lot of people have been supporting these old games for so long (mostly applying to Capcom players), and finally the developers are fighting back with cutting edge graphics and long-awaited sequels in 2008. It would suck if the scene ran out of steam just as that happened since I would imagine there’s a lot of potential for new blood when these games come out.
i’m so proud that ottawa is in a state of growth.
you’re not the first one to look at HDR and SF4 and KOF 12 and say jesus christ, what if i made it bigger?
Then again, I’m the guy who can’t get bomberman tournaments out of my head.
T9 r.i.p.
correct me if i am wrong, but it only been 7 years. since there was no such thing as t1 trny, t2 was the first t trny.
i guess i have to host T9 @ metro
T9 @ Skybox.
I heard it was going to be at VF and/or VA
Okay here’s the deal, i’ve talked to Stephen about running T9.
I’m willing to help fund half the costs of a venue for T9, i need a partner that’s also willing to front the other half. I’m not sure if Stephen is still interested or not in doing so.
Here’s the list of things i need help for:
- Venue
I need help finding an affordable venue. I’m not looking to lose any money, so if anyone has a reasonable suggestion, please feel free to send me a PM.
- Directors
I only know the rules for Marvel, and how to run that, i do not know any rules for any other games. I need a knowledgable person from each game to step up and take duties of directing. Most of the experience directors are no longer willing to run the games (Tommy for 3s, g3nn for Marvel etc.) due to other things happening in their lives.
- Equipment
I’m willing to drive around to pick up equipment if people are willing to lend it. This isn’t as a big a problem as the first 2 tho, so let’s try get something going.
I’m not saying i only need another person to help me get T9 off the ground, the more people that’s willing to help, the better. If we can split the venue cost by 4-6 people, it would be much easier for it to get going.
I don’t know what the rules are like there. Here in Winnipeg we usually get a free venue. We get registered as an official university group and we have free access to the venues. Just tossing ideas out to help you guys out.
How long did they usually give you guys? We need a palce for 3 days.
T9 is a big tournament, and based on last year’s number, it drew 200+ players, so i don’t think a University will give us a space that big for 3 days, but thanks for the idea.
The room we used for our tournament we could have used all weekend. But we used it for two days. Worth a shot. Free venue makes things a hell of a lot easier. Also we probably could have gotten bigger rooms if we needed them. Also could have gotten multiple rooms.
You can count em in as a director, where ever t9 or O1 or W1 w/e you want to call it
I’m willing to help out with costs and location. I’ll explore some options soon so we can make this happen.
When does T9 supposed to happen, depending on date i might be willing to help out with things (dependent on date cause i might not be in the country)
That would be awesome.
JS says he’ll help fund for the location also, I’ll get in touch with DarkDragon and see what he says, i think 4 people funding a location would be alot easier then 2.
you guys are balllers.
T9 @ Roger’s Centre. We can do it.
