infernal affairs 1, 2, and 3… i watched both… the departed is filmed much better, scorcese made it much more gritty and did a better job of making it seem very dangerous for both of the double agents. the characters are all much more violent, but there’s also a lack of depth in the character development compared to the original.
infernal affairs 3 is horrible… don’t watch it… all sorts of weird flashbacks including yan (dicaprio’s character) flashing back to a scene where he should have facial hair, but doesn’t… it’s shady. and a weird sub-plot that because of the flashbacks you have no real idea when it’s supposed to take place… they put all these times up on the screen, but most of the shit is mixed in with flashbacks so its too confusing

Well my favourites are VF4, Tekken 3/Tag, and the SNK stuff (KOF, SS, Last blade…) I do like CvS2 and will try other stuff (I’ve yet to play 3S and haven’t played Alpha in years.) About the only serious fighting game I don’t like is Soul calibre (I just haven’t got ‘into’ it I guess)
I’m not saying “departed” was a bad movie. I was just annoyed at how so many things were just xcopied. I may have expected too much from this film but, it’s hard not to because of the many similarities between this and IA. As for the violence, it seemed subpar when compared to what is allowed in todays current films. And it’s very difficult to develope three characters in such a short movie. Maybe a trilogy someday? Bottom line is, he could have done a much better job with this all-star cast.

Yo man that was the point – it is a remake and was credited in the credits as such, tho scorcese never even saw the film. He paid for the rights to the script man, so it is supposed to be similar! I’m hearing it’s the best gangster film since good fellas, but haven’t seen it yet. First IA is superb but the other 2 are so so. Watch Election 1 and 2 for a better recent set of HK triad films.
