The only new Street Fighter anime coming out is Street Fighter Alpha 2(Generations). Its been confirmed for quite some time now(and supposed to be out his month finally, damn you Manga). From my understanding, if there was anything else new coming out besides that, I’m sure it would’ve been announced by now.
But subtitles can be turned on and off with the remote, or from the menu… the only way I can view closed-captions is on a PC, and I hate watching stuff on a PC. Do you have closed captioned DVD players in America? They aren’t available over here. How about having Subtitles AND Closed-Captions, that would be the best for everyone!
If SFA2 is the only anime coming out, it will probably have subs on the DVD, I have the DVD of SFA and it has subs, plus two language tracks (Japanese and English dub).
I wish it was a new anime series based on Udon’s comics though, that would be SO much better!
It is an US federal law for all TVs displaying at least 13 inches to have a closed caption decoding chip, but only if manufactured after a certain year, so all TVs being sold in the US should have them. Same goes for DVD players in the US (PS2 and X-Box are capable of outputing the CC signal). CC is way superior than subtitles for the hearing-impaired because they will tell you background noises, such as a cell phone or doorbell going off. When I was watching The Whole Nine Yards, I couldn’t figure out why Mathew Perry was jumping so much until someone told me his pager was going off. Unfortunately here in Australia, we have no such laws, which really sucks, although most of our (Region 4) DVDs have both English AND English Captions for the Hearing Impaired, which is a separate subtitle stream that will tell you when sounds are happening, like Closed Captions. The advantage is they’re not using a fixed width font.
I have a Teletext TV, but unfortunately it can’t display CC from DVDs, and have tried my friend’s PS2 as well. I may have to import a PS2 from America and get a power adapter so I can watch CC DVDs. At least that way I’ll finally be able to play SF3, MVC2 and CVS2 as well.
glad I can be of help. I do notice that the xbox has problem showing the CCs sometimes. like they appear for half a second and disappear and reappear as garbled message. I can’t remember this happening with the playstation 2. I guess you might wanna google for closed captioning stuff in your country.

Doesn’t surprise me one bit, considering what they’ve done in the past with pushing back titles. They’re just as bad as Capcom is in that respect.

Besides, Sakura appeared in so many games… She’s not just “an alpha character” anymore.
She’s a Street Fighter icon.
True true, my point was though that so far the only releases are the SF2 characters and Sakura is not one of those. Evil Ryu may be the beginning of something new I suppose unless Udon actually draws the line there.
Really the only true Alpha characters that need a controller for are Rose, Sakura and Charlie.

The lack of Alpha love comes from a lot of sources. Notably a lot of the ‘Alpha’ characters belong elsewhere in different groupings.

There’s also Karin who came from a manga, but it doesn’t really count, does it? ^^;
The only true original alpha guys are Dan, Sakura, Karin, Rainbow Mika, Juli, Juni, Charlie and Guy. That’s not a whole lot when you think about it.
Guy is a FF character and belongs there mostly.
Karin and the Dolls really should only come AFTER Sakura and the otehrs as their storylines are more or less dependent on them.
