Starcraft II!

I suck so if either of you guys that just got beta want to get some games in today message me and we can play tonight

All I ever do is play 1v1 with my brother who is so much better than me its annoying

Beta’s only gonna be down for a week so it’s no big deal but I’d like to do a bit of practicing vs the computer offline.

I’m still playing online right now, and there’s nothing on their Twitter about this? What’s the deal?

Just jizzed.

A short history of Activision Blizzard or how…

My god… Starcraft 2 looks like a fucking movie. Those new trailers were just jizz material I swear lol.

IntotheRainbow vs White-rA. Wow. amazing games. I think this is the first time I’ve seen such high level play thats so far above everyone.

Hey was I the only one who saw the Xel Nagga black guy in it (Duran I think?)? He is shown throwing something in one scene, then a few seconds later (this is the last 1/4 of the trailer), you see him ‘phase in’ on some predator/protoss shit?

So uhm yeah…I guess I have to fall off the fence and set aside money for this epicness in a box…

Let me know if you want to get some SC games in before hand or SC2 games after. Nothing will beat the old school Lan party battles though

…Alex snoring and all…

ACTIVISION PRE-ORDER StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Releases on July 27 : Gaming: Console | Dell

$15 off.

Thank me later.

So catch me up, are they still planning two expansions for this? Is there a timetable?

  • :bluu:

5 days. I need to catch up on the story. I don’t really remember shit except how fucked Kerrigan got by Arcturus.

I don’t know about a time table, but this is their plan…

The first installment that comes out in 5 days is the Terran campaign. You’ll be able to play as whomever you want in multiplayer/skirmish but the only campaign you’ll play is Terran. After that will be the Zerg campaign and after that the Protoss. The new campaigns will also serve as expansions in the traditional sense adding extra units and maps. I’m assuming they’ll do similar to BW and give 2 units to each faction with each release.

Edit: IGN seems to think that Heart of the Swarm (the Zerg release) will get a 2010 date. I don’t know how accurate that is.

kinda sucks that they are selling the other 2 campaigns separately. guess I’m the only person who buys this for singleplayer and doesnt plan to play online anyway

Spoiler alert (the game is like 12 years old already, whatever):

Terran campaign:
Raynor is on the run from Confederacy (the dominant Terran govt) because they don’t help him save his colony from the Zerg. He joins a rebel group called the Sons of Korhal, led by Arcturus Mengsk. Mengsk backstabs Kerrigan and owns the Confederacy, Raynor runs away.

Zerg campaign: Protoss and Zerg mostly go back and forth. Infested Kerrigan leads the Zerg to infest The Overmind into the crust of the Protoss homeworld.

Protoss: In the face of the Zerg threat, the Protoss do what they do best: kill each other. Game ends with Tassadar (Protoss hero) kamikaze-ing the Overmind on the Protoss homeworld.

Brood War campaign:
Protoss: Protoss leave their homeworld for the Dark Templar homeworld. Zerg follow. Kerrigan basically helps the Protoss kill the Zerg because they’re threatening her control of the swarm. She’s a sneaky bitch.

Terran: The OG Terrans (like, the ones from Earth) show up and start wrecking shop. Everyone kind of teams up against them, but they manage to subdue the (reborn) Overmind.

Zerg: Everyone teams up against the OG Terrans. Kerrigan stabs everyone in the back, killing two hero characters (Fenix and General Duke) and infesting the Dark Templar leader (who is then killed by the Protoss). She’s a sneaky bitch.

I really hate to be the guy to say this, but some of that article is straight bullshit. LAN support was gutted because they didn’t want people being able to play the multiplayer on 15 computers with just one disc. I can’t say I blame them.

Some people believe that activision is the devil, some don’t. Either way, I still believe blizzard is in it to make incredible games. They still do that. Yes, they’ve monitized some things but if you believed that things were actually as that article framed them, then nobody in the industry but activision and blizzard are trying to monitize things.

I’ve heard that blizzard expects to do 18 month between release and expansion, but we’ll see that seems like a long time. But then again it is blizzard.
