wait so a Protoss with bad macro and terrible unit composition (and some fairly bad forcefields get his units stuck in chokes) loses to a Zerg who has like 2 more bases than him and this supports your argument? That wasn’t “good shape” for the Protoss going into late game with a bunch of almost mined out bases and virtually no army.
^ Taking on Roaches w/o Immortals is like walking across broken glass w/o shoes. Possible, but really painful.
No, that’s about as strong as a protoss gets most of the time. Saying that “Zerg has 2 more bases” is kind of moot vs Protoss. Toss with ALWAYS have much less bases AND units, even versus a Terran. They just don’t have the resources or map control ability to expand safely. The forcefields imo were placed well: they kept the zerg units out of their range, while the colossus and templars could rain down dps on them. The unit composition was fairly good. Sentries were there for anti-muta and shield use, and the rest is obvious. The only realistic change to composition would have been to trade about half the collossi for immortals, because the zerg was very very roach heavy.
Where the hell are parts 1 and 2?
Other than the colossus, toss has some pretty weak t3 units. Especially that oversized flying poop called the mothership.
Some guy had the idea of it having the ability to instantly restore all shields under it. That would make it useful. Maybe if it flew a tiny bit faster as well. I mean, the immortals are outrunning it.
Damn i want a beta invite -shakes fist-
Funnily enough:
Not a single Immortal in sight.
Immortals are overpriced imho >_>
ooooo just got sent a beta invite, ive never even played sc1 lol, dont know shit about this game
That is what is wrong with America… I am now going to be depressed the rest of the day and will try to find new ways to bankrupt Blizzard for this egregious oversight…
i think they want more scrubs right now… it seems like that if you have a warcraft rts on your account you got a beta invite as of late.
I suck badly at sc2, my micro is trash and i don’t know the armor system and what counters what. In warcraft i new it to a tee.
Then what do you call a good shape toss going in late game vs zerg? A toss out basing zerg??? That would be a good situation for any race but that doesnt happen. Toss player had 3 bases while the zerg has 4, and then went for a 4th base top left corner 3 mins into the replay while zerg was still siting on 4 bases. If that isnt the ideal situation for a toss then iono what is.
Do you even play toss??
GGs last night whoever it was from here I was playing, sucks your partner was really bad. I was choking myself, I hadn’t played a proper game in awhile, and I tried to do the early void ray tech but totally built my cybernetics core about 1-2 minutes too late (ouch!) so by the time my first void ray came you had mutas. Then I had walled myself off, so I couldnt get my ground units out to help my partner (who was my brother). Was just funny to see a fellow SRKer randomly.
lol sorry mang. Dota is my crack, but i’ve been checking out some replays of sc2 so i may try to get into it . It seems there’s soooo much to learn tho and im too old to be learning new games like these, eh we’ll see how this goes.
The keys are sent out at random. It probably seems like more WC3 or WoW players get keys because there’s a larger amount of them compared to dedicated Starcraft players.
The only thing probably not random about who gets keys are system specs. They probably want a wide arrange of people with different specs for obvious reasons.
Again, fuck you Blizzard. I set up a second account last month just for the hell of it. So that’s one higher end machine and one business laptop, and no go.
i played wow for 4 years and have a warcraft 3 game attached to my battle net account, also opt’d in for “random blizzard email” as well as reactived my wow account just a week before getting beta. Also my comp is a solid mid tier machine.
I built a upper-end machine specifically for this game and attached my original games to the account (all the way back to the first Diablo) and got an invite 2 weeks later /shrug.
Facebook Starcraft II beta key giveaways are depressing as fuck. When I saw the last status saying the giveaway was ended with 168 feedback after 23 seconds, I knew I just wasted my time.
I know how you feel, I’m just going to ignore the beta completely and when the game is out I’ll just buy it and take a weekend off and play like 70 hours straight
I’m still pretty new to SC in general so playing against customized AIs and trying out different strategies is good enough for me. I should be pretty decent by the time it comes out officially - at least in terms of macro.
