Blizzard opens beta test opt-in for Starcraft II
I’m about to sign up…good luck to those who make it!
Thanks for the heads up! :tup: I signed up…I haven’t been to Battle.net in ages, and had to create a new profile. It’s cool that they let you download the games you own from their servers. I already added Starcraft, but now I need to add Diablo 1 and 2 once I find the CD keys.
Make sure you added at least one game to your profile.
Yeah…I added all my Blizzard games.

I did this opt in thing for signing up awhile ago, this seems different tho? Do you have to have add a game to get opt’d in?
Yeah. If you try to opt in without adding a game, you’ll get an error saying that you have to own at least one Blizzard game, and it must be added to your profile.
The second DT model looks like a predator. I like the first model, but they should make DTs a bit leaner.
Opted in last night, hopefully I get lucky. The Frozen Throne beta was all sorts of fun, even on my dial up way back when.

Then you might have a chance to get in on the beta…I’m sure they are looking for a wide range of computer specs to see how well starcraft 2 will run.
Don’t they make you give your system specs? Blizzard games have always run on a huge range of specs. I entered my Blizzcon code :).

That’s what i’m hoping for. I bought my computer in 2005, and i’ll wait until 3 months after SCII to purchase a new one…
The beta is supposed to roll out late summer. So I guess that’s Aug-Sept.
I really doubt the game will tax your computer that badly, I’m thinking it’s max specs will be pretty low including screen resolution just because they don’t want computer specs to give you an advantage. The only difference now really is widescreen vs 4:3 aspect ratio monitors, but widescreen monitors are so cheap now there’s really no reason not to have one.

Don’t see why not. Icefrog would have more options to make the game more interesting.
I’m sure they will have a “user map setting” mode, or something along the lines of it that allows custom game types.
