StarCraft II Matchmaking Thread

Fungal growth prevents vikings from landing.

Why did you have to make a new account to test out terran? I think just switching to terran in your current league vs the people you’re currently playing would be a more accurate measurement. Terran may be OP but from my point of view, I’m sick of it too. I pretty much get BM’ed 9/10 of my matches.

Drop a pdd and emp: "lol learn to play a real race, nub"
seige some tanks: “wow terran op much? I hope you have nut cancer”

I hope they fix this mess so I can respect myself again.

They need to release the expansions and D3 like, TODAY!!!

Yeah… I need some Zerg campaign in my life. Lurkers please?

If fewer than 6 cannons worked then I would’ve only used that amount of cannons. But as they are, cannons suck in this game. 3 dropships of marauders ain’t afraid of just 2 cannons.

Almost never see air units take out my probes except maybe vikings if they count. They also always manage to attack right when I’m sending my troops across the map. Although I did manage to beat this terran today using almost everything in my arsenal (zealots, stalkers, collosi, phoenixes, void rays). This was also because I managed to have an ob keep an eye on his army to see when he would move out.

For what it’s worth, I hope you don’t get nut cancer. :frowning:

Edit: And honestly I’d like to hear it from a good player’s mouth. What are your opinions on Terran? I’m not going to flame you or anything if you think they’re balanced but I do want to have some kind of conversation from a player that sees the race from the pilot’s end.

I hope I’m not the only one that finds SC2 really, really stressful. Between the constant early rushes/proxies/pressure, the rankings, the need to keep track of 7 different things at once. . .the game’s starting to feel more like a herculean ordeal than a way to pass the time. Or perhaps I’m just taking it too seriously.

You are not the only one my friend. This game is indeed very stressfull anad very hard to play at decent level; there’s just so many things going on, like build orders, rushing, early, mid, late game, hot keys, minerals, supply depot, attacking, defending, choking, droping, and all of that. And I play random, so it’s very hard. It’s like I said in an earlier post: this is not a game you come home and relax to.
All that said, it’s still an addicting and fun game! For me though, I don’t think I can keep up with marriage, work, travel, AND SC2. The campaign was the AWESOME; but that was way too short lived…
D3 anyone?

HOLY SHIT

Idra showing his pro zvt. I really wanna see the replay of game 3 vs tarson to see how he does it.

I honestly think tvz is terran favored but its too soon to say T is clearly op. The problem I see is in the lower level where terran is easier to play and zerg has work harder. Same goes for tvp.

where? The last couple of times I watched him play his opponent would go "LOLumad? and ragequit. Granted I would kinda ragequit too when I got reaper rushed nasty, bio-balled and then sieges for the lols while still trying to pump an offense to break through a terran’s choke.

I’m betting on Dimaga vs IdrA for the finals. Just because it would be ironic.

link to replay?

YouTube - PsyStarcraft’s Channel <-- That one is really entertaining but just look up all of the major casters for IdrA replays that are super recent because IEM is all the rage right now.

Thx Irennicus! What does IEM standfor?

Intel Extreme Masters Tournament. It’s the biggest SC2 tournament to date and also where the latest IdrA replays are coming from.

Someone actually did a tutorial video on how to do the mutas vs thors spread. A lot easier than I though and should give zerg an advantage over terrans who rely on thors too much.

You can see the actual games vs Tarson once they’re uploaded here:

I dont see the ydra replays there :frowning:

For what it’s worth…if you like watching commentaries you should watch every PsY commentary to date for a few reasons:

A) He’s hilarious…probably the funniest commentator period imo.

B) He casts his own replays and he’s GOOD. He was ranked #40 in NA when the rankings come out. He isn’t quite Dimaga/IdrA sure, but he goes toe to toe with tournament players all the time and wins a lot. Because of this he can detail exactly what he’s thinking about as he goes over the game giving you a much firmer stance of what he’s going for at all times. He lets you know when he’s failed his objective, gotten what he needs, what fights are actually important, etc.

C) He’s a really good sport and can take the heat. When people call him out on shit he responds in an earnest fashion. He’s a very honorable player.

D) His 14 extractor/14 pool build is fucking amazing and more players should use it. >:(

Check out this replay from earlier in the beta from PsY to see his style…he’s awesome.

Edit: And don’t try to be too judgmental of PsY or drewbie on that replay. That was early beta and both of them have gotten a lot better at sc2 since then.

semi finals replays

Ok I need a few pointers. I defended an early cheese ling rush by walling in. However I didnt know what to do after that. I could have teched up to banshees real fast but I was afraid of a baneling bust, so I was pumping more ground forces. But I didnt want any random run bys occuring so I didnt move out. But would it have been better to try and move out?

here is the replay file just in case.
