It’s fucking amazing how these small drops from terran are SO DAMN EFFECTIVE! As MMA is showing, all you need is ONE drop ship filled with cheap ass marines to wreck havoc. Protoss lacks this kinds of drop lethality.

I want to know what build TO make to counter terran 1 base all in; or aggressive early marine marauder stim all in.

Yeah, when I saw this, I was just confused because it literally doesn’t make sense. He’s reducing his army size by spending units on drops, making him more vulnerable to counterattacks or pushes from zerg. He’s throwing away medivacs and marines with no clear advantage gained. But despite constantly losing units and having relatively ineffective drops, he manages to push zerg and win.

Which part of any of this makes any sense at all? I’m just. . .well, flabbergasted.

yeah, repeat drop after drop after drop… Nothing elaborate, just simple marines in a drop ship. Nothing elaborate, just ONE drop ship. Nothing elaborate, just hell if you don’t address it.

Terrans needs those drops because they tend to lose in straight up battles, and if a drop ship gets sniped thats 10 supply which is a pretty huge chunk (cost is more than a new base). So it’s heavily risk/reward. Protoss has the same potential in Warp Prisms but they are way too under utilized, and we saw today how Losira + Nydus = : D

Also, it depends what type of all in you’re talking about from terran. Marine/SCV all in? You need to make sure to have 1-2 sentries and just split his forces, pull the majority of your workers, and get your zealots hitting some marines. Not easy but in theory thats all it is. It’s hardest because you have to know its coming; leaving 1-2 stalkers at the bottom of his ramp (depending how early the rush is) to spot it, then use the stalker to kite the marines/scvs back to your base for lots of free damage while you prepare back at home with having at least 3 gates or 2 gate + robo done.

If its late enough for concussive shell you should have an observer out and can prepare accordingly by chrono boosting an immortal to help with the Marauders, and then just micro your ass off. Even turtle into 1 base colossus works sometimes, my vs T isn’t that hot and I need more practice with the timings

I think I’m finally getting the hang of the spanishiwa build… almost every terran QQ’s when they get rolled by broodlord / queen. :clapdos:

drops are good because they mix up the opponent. they dont know where to go. if you have multiple drops in different places, it really kills your enemy’s economy. your enemy is going to lose something guaranteed (if his army is not at home), while you still have a force ready to defend your base. and marines dps is so fucking good, especially with stim. MMA reallly showed how only 8 marines can cause havoc.

Ended up playing some games with my CSULB alumni in the channel, got to play some T and P so it was a good learning experience: )
