my favorite change so far is that if someone messages you while SC2 is minimized it makes it blink in the taskbar now

I always wonder about the validity of the ranking schemes. By adding a masters league, wouldn’t this naturally mean that everyone below have a chance to move up now? The reason being, all the hardcore players have moved up leaving you free to move up as well. So diamonds move up to masters, Plats to Diamond, and so on and so forth. Does it make much of a difference?
Also, when does the ladder get reset? I might pick a different race for that… I’m thinking Terran.
I broke 3000 this weekend, but then went on a nice losing streak bringing me back down. Master league is just a new version of diamond league I think. First match I played after getting in was against a terrible terran crying zerg imba, something I haven’t seen in a really long time on the ladder.
it shouldn’t really affect the lower leagues actually, theres no reason to believe that theyll all just “move up” because they added one league without taking any away. moving up should have the same requirements as it did before, they just added a league on the top because there was too large of a gap between some diamond players and others
so its only really relevant to current diamonds, some of wihch will be promoted and some of who wont be, however the people who you get matched up against wont change because your hidden matchmaking rating stays the same
no one knows when ladder will be reset, because blizzard hasn’t said. possible they dont even know
P.S. If you’re currently Diamond, seems like you gotta win one post-patch game to get promoted to Master (assuming your MMR is high enough to be eligible)
I think Im gonna make it my goal to actually ladder and reach diamond; still play custom with you guys for experience but I really wanna prove to myself I can make Diamond. Not sure if I wanna do it post ladder reset or pre.
Even if its just 4 gate rushing myself there if it comes down to it, play to win SRK style haha

It’s probably also more challenging to climb the ranks 4v4 with one hand tied behind your back, which still doesn’t make it a better use of your time.
This is very true which makes it that much more awe inspiring when I see individuals who have made it to diamond leaguve in each category by themselves.
I noticed playing that spine crawlers are now 100 minerals. Was it always 100 minerals? Did I miss something?

haven’t played sc2 in a while
when i do, its once in a blue moon, and i am drunk or high, so i play 4v4 random team. which actually, is incredibly fun. also, everyone else who plays seems to be drunk or high too, so its no big handicap. every game i say “IM HIGH AND DRUNK” and most of the players will resopnd with “me too”
you’re not lying, i have a friend who plays a lot of random team and i was watching him play at my house once. he literally stopped building for a good couple minutes while he rolled a joint mid game

Tell me your thoughts on these customizable hot keys. It came to my attention that I’m very fluent with hot keys for making any building/unit, and just about any activated ability. However, the buttons I always click on are the upgrades, so instead of worrying about what that shit is (like Metabolic Boost is M by default) I just change it to A, S, D, F, etc. going from left to right on the screen.
So Spawning pool has A and S for Meta boost and Adrenal glands. Roach warren has A and S for Roach speed, tunneling claws. Evo chamber has A, S, D, for melee attack, range attack, and ground armor…you get the idea.
Thoughts?
Obviously this could be taken for tech labs, engi bays, armories, forges, etc. as well.
makes sense to me I think I will do that since I haven’t memorized them yet anyway. I might use q, w, e, r however.
i sat there last night looking at the custom hotkeys figuring out what i should change to make easier, more accessible, whatever.
After 10 min i realized i know all the hotkeys now and changing them would just make it more confusing so fuck it.
