you say that like hes wrong. so far its never been proven otherwise except by people who think its “good storytelling” to watch a character do something that makes no sense for them to do. All just so they push the shitty broken narrative forward.

LMFAO at people still mad at TLJ. Makes me want to watch it again tonight and bask in all the crybabby tears.:rofl::rofl:

He’s been bitching about the same movie for 6 months now. Being “right” doesn’t matter at this now as there’s nothing more to add. It’s beating a dead horse and it’s time to move on.

probably, but i dont think its just that but of the waves its made in its own trilogy and how clearly screwed up and dead the story to the new trilogy is now because of its existence. Like I didnt think TFA was the greatest thing in world, but there was “something” in it to its new characters and setting. Like i may have been bored because of the rehashing of an old as dirt storyline, but i could SEE how we could move on from it and what steps could have been taken to ensure that our new characters and rebels could be given an interesting story to pursue. And then TLJ happened and threw the story away and poisoned the trilogy and now most of us are left wondering where the story is going or if there even is a story at all when everyone lost and all of the biggest plot threads are gone as well. That is how far reaching this is. We can all pretend that Return is the bookend of the series, but if you ever want to continue it with whats being made today, then you have pretty much a dead end.

I personally feel for Ron Howard, he made a good movie but due to poor timing, seriously they sandwiched it between the third Avengers and a long awaited Incredibles sequel what idiot said that would be a good idea, and other factors it will go down as the lowest producing one at the moment.

Also seriously the horse is dead, anyone that hates TLJ already does so, anyone that is fine with it are not going to change their minds and those in the middle are probably not going to be swayed by repeating the same argument so please let us move on.

I’ve never watched the CGI Clone Wars or Rebels, but I’d like to check them out. I think I watched some of the cartoon Clone Wars from 2003, but maybe not all of them.

So, do I need to watch Clone Wars before Rebels? And do I need to start with the older cartoons from the guy who did Samurai Jack, or am I good to go straight into the CGI Clone Wars on Netflix?

No, Not really. You miss out on some of the cameo appearances from Clone Wars/ Prequils, but the writing good enough that you get filled in on the important bits without making any explanation heavy-handed in it’s approach.
I think the Original Trilogy is more recommended viewing for Rebels than Clone Wars.
There some Original Trilogy Cameos also in Rebels, and even some stuff that was tossed out as Non-Canon with Legends get put back into Canon in the series.

based on the vitriols on the internets i assume it is true. by default that’s my natural take. the criticisms of TLJ are all valid and good and the tanking of solo is proof that ppl are sick of the sjw stuff, but harassing ppl on social medias is dumb mob mentality. it happens both on the left and right wing by trolls. if its fake news then great, left wing identity politics is still an abyssmal failure

As I did my own research into it, the actress wasn’t ever a fan of social media and she probably was forced into making one. She’s never really spoken out about it nor has Disney made a statement about the situation. I’m sure like any other famous person there’s both those who love and hate characters but tend to forget that it’s a character. I doubt the harassment was that big but I wouldn’t be surprised if she got some of it. As of the time her social media account went dark, filming would have started on episode 9 and would put most actors on NDAs anyway thus forcing them to stay quiet about what they’re doing. I’m sure she’s fine. Working for Disney is weird. We value traditional family a lot here so Disney doesn’t outright support LGBT yet one of the company values is diversity so…go figure. I guess what does make sense is doing something to make the most money out of it.

There’s still no evidence of it happening outright BUT I doubt it didn’t happen. Any harassment big or small is still unacceptable.

Welp . . . . . .

I look at this as a good thing. Even though I liked the movies, the franchise needs an obvious refocus. Maybe this is the year where Transformers and Star Wars finally get it right.

I’m still OK with what they did with Luke given:

  • what happened with old Obi-Wan
  • what happened with old Yoda
  • they are trying to avoid the Expanded Universe stuff and go their own way

I hate it hate it hate it and want Luke to go around ravaging Imperial Forces, but that’s my fanboy speaking out that ignores the previous pathetic fates they gave to Ben and Yoda. Fucking Yoda, just hanging out going crazy and dying on Dagobah.

That news sucks: I would watch more in the Soloverse. This reminds me of Tron Legacy where it makes millions of dollars but not nearly enough millions of dollars. Everything doesn’t have to make Avatar money to be worthwhile. :frowning:

I think every inner fanboy wanted to see Omega Luke on the big screen.

As far as the hold on those movies, it’s a “hold”. It doesn’t mean that they will never come back to it. However, given Solo’s financial track, it’ll be a while (if ever).

Anyone that sees Social Justice Warrior themes in Solo are reaching or think any sign of females or minorities doing anything impactful in a movie’s plot is some how SJW. Hell the nearest they got to preaching was the robot and they played her off as a joke.

Solo fell flat because it really wasn’t an event movie like how other Star Wars films including Rogue One were marketed and portrayed as. Also it was sent out into a packed summer window where unlike Marvel or Pixar it didn’t have the good will or strength to survive.

Especially after the reshoots, they should have delayed it until Fall or Winter because even a numbered release would have struggled to do well sandwiched between a good Deadpool sequel plus Infinity War and just before the sequels to The Incredibles or Jurassic World dropped.

Nah I didn’t watch solo so i cant comment on the movie content but…

EDIT: Various other news articles hailed the feminist bot and various other bullshit i can link those too. and apparently lando is a “pansexual”??? WTF DOES THAT EVEN MEAN???

When i was saying solo failure is a referendum on sjw stupidity, i was referring to how various people on youtubes and internets were threatening to boycott star wars because TLJ was garbage. a lot of reviews of course mentioned the SJW bs in TLJ among other things.

Oh and also referencing kathleen kennedy. just google kathleen kennedy SJW for the lulz

It turned out they only called Lando a “Pansexual” cause some dickweed journalist asked a question about Lando’s sexuality and if he would be ok with any non human characters since hes Lando. Rather than even bother with the obvious clickbait headline question, the writer just said “sure” and everyone started putting out clickbait articles about how hes a pansexual or some tumblr bullshit. Like if he said “No” it would have probably been construed as “This Solo writer is a misogynist and Lando is a misogynist HURR DURR.” Cause thats what gets clicks. There was never anything in it and even the movie itself has NOTHING about Lando being anything but a dude who obviously fucks women in his spare time when he isnt hustling.

As for no more spin offs. Good. They were ill advised and didnt really open the universe or have any real stakes in them since all they did was explain shit that already happened and didnt need to be explained. Just a waste of time and a waste of a universe. And thats been Disney’s thing from the beginning.

“This solo writer is a misogynist and lando is a misogynist” LOL

dont forget bigot cause he wont sleep with aliens

i guess kirk is a pansexual too according to whatever ugly fat feminist chicks are making up these stupid words? gross

in the related videos of the star wars hate rants, now i’m seeing hate rants on oceans 8 which apparently reviewers are too afraid to criticize because they dont wanna be called misogynists. kinda like the critic reviews of tlj being glowing whereas the youtube and rt reviews skewered it

The biggest criticism I see from Ocean’s Eight is that it’s essentially the first movie. It did the exact same thing that Forces Awakens did.

Well Last Jedi Blu-Ray and DVD sales are in. It is down a whooping 56% from what Force Awakens Sales were in the same time frame! That’s huge!

This is now definitive proof that it’s not just a “vocal minority” of whiners. In fact, it proves that a substantial chunk of the fanbase hated it also. And didn’t go out and buy it. The Disney shills, and those unfortunate fans who are still in denial, can’t spin it any other way. You can’t argue with the numbers. No trilogy for Ruin Johnson, he needs to GTFO and take Kathleen Kennedy with him.

“When the sequel gathers only 56% of it’s predecessor’s Blu-Ray sales, it indicates a MASSIVE swing in public opinion”

^^ Damn Right!
