green is red’s opposite which always made me think that luke was saying with his green saber that he was finally equal to his father red doesnt overpower green like it does blue.
just imo
I watched this a few weeks ago. If just shows us that Lucas was always a visionary, but has trouble executing it.

Which tends to be the case with most. You either are completely big picture and need people to help fill in the details that matter, or you’re overly small picture, focusing too much on extraneous, irrelevant information and world building and someone needs to step in to trim the fat and get the story running smoothly.
Ironically enough, you could argue Lucas was guilty of both.
the devil is in the details, and lucas has difficulties with mr.satan.
its in the fantasy genre for me.
“a long time ago…in a galaxy far far away” is essentially, “once upon a time, in a kingdom far away” which is how fantasy stories start.
its not the future, its the past.
lets remember that star wars is based on the legend of king arthur.
Who knows man. It’s why I just lurk in this thread right now.
I like the Green as well. I took the color change in ROTJ as a reflection of Luke, showing that he has also changed as a character as well (matured?).

Yeah, its Space Opera though. So its basically fantasy with sci fi themes. Space Operas are really fun until you start forcing hard science stuff into them. This is why the Holdo sacrifice is a bit jarring for the series. Things are supposed to be kind of nonsensical in how we accept things being able to happen because of “technology”. Once you do something real sciency then you kind of break the Suspencion of Disbelief because you have to recontextualize everything done in the movie based on the hard sciency stuff.
Good fun all around.
the real reason why his saber is green is because it was originally blue in ROTJ but when they saw how bad it looked up against the bright blue sky during the fight on Jabba’s barge…they decided to go green at the last minute. like how they changed the title fromm revenge to return.
but im glad since it does reflect Luke’s growth as you say.
In that case then, i want to see the same person who did the video edit, also edit the Jabba’s Barge fight with blue saber too and see how the Blue looks.

You know, this makes me feel bad for Anakin. Poor kid never had a chance. He was targeted by a Sith overlord since he was 8-10 years old, made to abandon everything he ever knew in his quest to be a hero (including his mother), then was looked down on because he was trained too late to be indoctrinated, and all the while had a Sith Lord who was capable of manipulating the entire galaxy from behind the scenes for the past 30 years and had already turned a seasoned Jedi and started a war by playing both sides against each other in a “No matter who wins I Win” scenario talking in his ear and undermining his faith in the Jedi (who were also doing that bit on thier own, not helping things) along with his faith in Obi Wan (who probably had too much faith in a 20 year old with known abysmal emotional control)
You still gotta draw the line at murdering children. Though this also goes back to him murdering the raiders who killed his mother who may as well have all been children to him. Considering how easy it is to delude yourself in the dark side it was probably easy for him to do.
I’m still a fan of the universe/series but this thread really turned to ass.
I like to call the tech in Star Wars “Space Magic”

Or Space Chi/Ki since they are supposed to be space samurai.
Considering how divisive The Last Jedi is, it’s not really a surprise.
Yup. When terrible movies emerge from classic franchises, it tends to have that effect.
There’s nothing wrong with you if you did like it tho which the problem with this thread.

No when people can’t accept that others don’t share their opinion and they constantly try to shove that opinion down others people’s throat, it has that effect. Hell, it’s not even an active debate any more. It’s people that hate the movie constantly acting like petulant children at this point. People are acting like they are John Wick and TLJ broke into their house, killed their puppy, and stole their classic car. At some point, you have to just agree to disagree.
