Heck they mined that period so deep Disney rebooted the Canon to make previous movies, games and comics out of canon.
Even in their new canon, they already have the Star wars Rebels animated series and Rogue One. Plus unless they are going to make Han really old compared to Luke and Leia, this upcoming movie should also fit in the time between episode 3 and 4.

Apparently its still on. You and I feel the same way on this one. McGregor and McDiarmid were the best parts of the prequels. Iād be happy if this one continued. However, I donāt need a nostalgia overload on this. Either it could take place amidst the Clone Wars or while he is in evasion mode. They could adapt parts of The Force Unleashed game to have The Apprentice hunting down Kenobi.

Solo was officially announced in 2015, during the franchise return. The name Solo has more notoriety with casual movie goers than Dash Rendar and/or Shadows of the Empire. Disney was not up for taking chances. If that was the case, TFA wouldnāt have been a 200 million dollar nostalgia flick. I do think that if they knew what they knew now, Solo may not have been one of the early outings for the stand alone films. The YT-2400 is seen in A New Hope and in SW Rebels. The ship can be seen taking off from Mos Eisley in the special edition.
Shadows of the Empire sounds it can be the next Star Wars cartoon series.
The Last Jedi is a major turning point in the franchise it made a total joke out of the SW universe and Iām sure this will impact all future SW projects.
I think the Solo will bomb cause who are we kidding Kathleen Kennedy is putting (Emilia Clarke) aka āSpace Kaleesiā as another lead in the movie Iām sure her character is going to be another super perfect female out-smarting every male character in the movie which IMO doesnāt really fit a Solo movie.
