So, the new anthology novel, âFrom a Certain Point of Viewâ is out and it reveals some interesting details.
Spoiler
Thereâs about 1 hour between the end of Rogue One and Episode IV. More importantly, it reveals why the ship was docked there in the first place - it was under repair when they decided to sortie to Scarif. Also, the plan was to get to Tatooine and then scuttle the ship and find transport there, and they were only minutes from doing so when the Devastator arrived.
Mon Mothma had left Yavin IV before the Death Star arrived and was planning to dissolve the Alliance if the moon was destroyed. Her plan was to appear before the Senate, and surrender in the wake of the moonâs destruction, hoping that it would inspire a stronger rebellion.
R2 is an asshole. He basically convinces the R5 unit, whoâs already in disrepair due to Jawa maintenance to almost kill itself so that R2 ends up being bought by the Skywalkers.
Qui-Gonâs Force Ghost has been visiting Obi-Wan for about ten years or so by the start of Episode IV. He can also see the future and knows that Obi-Wanâs going to die in his fight with Vader.
Speaking of Obi-Wan, it seems he canât bear to speak Anakinâs name without getting emotional and tearing up. Itâs part of the reason he considers him dead.
Greedo hates Han because he had a thing for some girl named Uncelta, but she got together with Han instead. And then Han proceeded to break her heart, proceeding to piss off Greedo even more.
The owner of the Mos Eisley cantina hates droids because of a bad experience with the Separatists during the Clone Wars. At the same time, he respects Jedi (since they rescued him from said Separatists) which is why he never tells on Obi-Wan after he cuts off that dudes arm.
Boba Fett believes his own hype and is kinda full of himself. Also, the reason Vader has to remind him about âno disintegrationsâ, is that he once disintegrated a bounty and still tried to collect on it.
The Holiday Special is canon - specifically the bit with Bea Arthur in the cantina.
Yoda wanted to train Leia, not Luke.
