The Expanded Universe was a colossal cluster fuck of contradictions, inaccuracies, and plagued with Fan-Fiction tier writing.
There was never any attempt to make a central dogma or series bible for the expanded Universe so shit changes from writer to writer on how it’s all handled.
I am glad Disney unceremoniously got rid of the Expanded Universe and made it all into Legacy, along with everything else that is non-canon.
The expanded universe is like a garden so chocked with weeds you are better off digging up the whole thing and starting fresh. Plus the Expanded Universe left no room for new growth.
Man I hated all 3 Solo children (Jaina, Jacen and Anakin Solo) in the Expanded Universe.
Jacen, despite his Uncle Luke best efforts became a major shit head and later a betrayer and went Sith because of his colossal shit head-ness. (Kinda what Anakin Skywalker did in the prequels with none of the development).
Anakin Solo got Chewie killed by being a stupid dip shit and almost got disowned by Han.
Jaina was alright, she seems to inherit all the good traits from her parents. (Jaina was also supposed to be Han’s mother’s name)
Han’s Piloting and Technical skills, Leia’s Negotiation and other political skills and was one of Luke’s better students.
She even followed her uncle’s lead and became a X-wing pilot for the New Republic. She bad ass enough for the Yuuzhan Vong to associate her with their trickster goddess.
Bad thing is Jaina was in deep in Marry Sue Territory being the jack of all trades (master of done).
The one Canon Solo kid, Ben Solo is based around Jacen.
He was definitely one of the best things about the prequels. Him and Ian McDiarmid seemed to be the only two people that felt like they were truly interested in the roles they were playing.
Somebody had John Williams music on their stream last night. I’d forgotten how amazing normal Star Wars music is. (As compared to Rogue One, which seemed to be scored badly.)
Or Luke could just be a horrible teacher & he knows that, so thats why he was in hiding.
I mean come on did you see the way he was looking at Rey? Dude was probably like " Now i done went across the Galaxy to get away from all the bullshit & here you are. You must like to see me fail."
No, those solders the Cyborg Ninja killed offered more resistance than the Rebel troopers offer Vader.
Also Vader wasted less time toying with them, Gray Fox took is sweet time.
