Also, some of the shots that were in the trailer, but not in the final film, were never actually meant for the final film and were actually just scenes where Edwards was messing around with Felicity Jones and Ben Mendelsohn on camera for what he thought would be “cool moments.”
The Vader scene gave street cred to that movie. If Rogue One didn’t have that scene, there would be a different fan outlook on this movie.
I really wouldn’t have cared about digital Leia as long as it fit the story.
