Is that because she has a super good dash or a very fast-hitting FA (kind of a rhetorical question…I will have a look in a sec)? Because if you use those attacks at their tip they are generally safe from FA. Obviously I know makoto’s command dash but that doesn’t have armour iirc
Yo everybody that means will be able to mk every time balrog does a ex dash punch drastically changing the flow of the match between dhalsim and balrog
because balrog will no longer be able to ex into dhalsim no matter what depending on the situation because pressing mk on reaction from dhalsims best space or
sweet spot is mad easy!
YAY!
This also makes focus attacks against sim very hard to do and everybody knows people LOVE to be like
yo focus attack cancel into forward dash jump in and then beat up dhalsim
or focus attack into dash beat up dhalsim
or focus attack limb beat up dhalsim! now it cannot be done! this one change is greater than 10 changes I can name from the top of my head!
and it works from max range! this is great!
Yes the boxer matchup will be def in Dhalsim’s favor now (it is 5-5 for me currently), you’ll be able to just s.MK everytime you see him moving. Yes, you can throw ex on reaction, but there’s always that random turn punch that you never see coming (you can b.HK it when you know it’s coming).
Now you just have to s.MK since that beats the turn punch as well.
How much do you guys think dhalsims ‘lame’ playstyle influences capcom when balancing him? Dhalsim matches dont create ‘hype’ among stream monsters and online/casual players who are only happy when they are seeing ‘swag’ combos. Do you think Capcom is shallow enough to take this into account when balancing a character that clearly needs help? They dont wanna buff a character to the point where he has potential to be top tier because stream monsters think matchups like Arturo vs Dieminion are boring and dont wanna see more of that (even though those matchups are the epitome of spacing and zoning and are very exhilarating to people who know real SF)?
It does, but you have to see if he’s doing a TAP or a Rush punch, and there’s no way in hell you can see the move and then s.HK, because the startup of it is shit.
Now you can just s.MK as an answer to anything
I don’t really agree. It’s pretty easy to see the difference between at TAP and a rush. I very seldom ever try to standing RH a rush punch. It’s not like I have gdlk reactions either.
Maybe from full screen, yah, but if you are doing it from 1/2 screen, props to you man, really.
It’s really hard to see, identify, and then react accordingly (and again, there’s also the terrible startup on s.HK)
sim matches have been the most hype matches since the game released over 4 years ago.
i remember fchamp vs daigo and many other hype as fuck games when sim was a playable character.
i agree that sim matches arent that intense anymore because sim is the worst char in the game right now and just gets bodied at high level play.
capcom doesnt need to make the game flashy and swag. you got SxT for this and look how it tuned out.
it’s dead
people enjoy good matches. stream monsters should have seen every combo by now.
I don’t know how to make enough noise about this change, I’m really not pleased with it. As I posted elsewhere, dhalsim is at frame advantage after every focus dash so any problems with it are skill related not dhalsim related.
What people are not realizing is that although Sim users can “spam” the soon-to-be double-hitting st.mk, that it will only do full damage if both hits connect. This addition to Sim’s arsenal is not intended to be used as a be all end all way to keep players at a distance, it’s simply intended to help alleviate the current level of ease that a LOT of the cast has to just focus through a limb and attack, or get within close attack range. I really don’t think it’s going to be nearly as powerful as everybody seems to think (both here and at other character forums).
Having Sim revert back to his Super damage is a much bigger announcement for Sim players, in my opinion. But only time will tell.
Such horseshit of them removing it. One video that was released on the internet is all it took for the FGC mob mentality to take over and proclaim the 2 hit St. MK the strongest move in the history of Fighting Games. Reminds me of when MvC3 came out and all the “outrage” about overpowered Sentinal. Yeah how’d that turn out.
