To run around the streets with a name like Luke Cafe, you’d have to be either hood as fuck or fucking the entire hood on the DL.
I really don’t see Rock committing to the stereotype aspects of Luke Cage and anyone not willing to go do that confortably should not get that role. It’s just too big a part of his character to have that halfassed and it be acceptable.
Part of it is I also don’t see Rock being believable in the role of a Goon/thug. I don’t think he could pull it off without it seeming fake or forced or worse both.
Maybe that black guy prisoner from the recent season of walking dead would be a great Luke Cage. He’s big, bald, similar color tone, and appeared to be able to pull off the “thug with street smarts but also underestimated intelligence” thing Cage has always had.
I hope someone knows who I mean even if his role was small. I think dude is unknown which would make it easier to buy into than Terry Crews because Crews has had so many roles.

Ironically, Ant-Man has been in the pipe line since Iron Man 2 hit the theaters. They promised it to one of the guys behind behind Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead, Wright or whatever and that project has been in development EVER since.
Personally, I have no love for it, since supposedly it will focus on the most boring guy to take the mantle of Ant-Man, Scott Lang. Probably because he is the only one that doesn’t have wife beating + D.I.D. breakdown or peeping on women in their showers while miniaturized + knocking up dead best friend girlfriend on his boring white bread resume.
If we’re gonna spend money on CGI then we can CGI the blackness on Ryan Reynolds like they did his Green Lantern outfit.

He at least acknowledges his problems and tries to be a better man. He’s one of the few avengers that is written with some depth in this regard…I think audiences will like a super hero who isn’t always perfect.
I feel the same, the problem is the Ant-Man that did that is Hank Pym, all the rumors and shit I’ve heard about the Ant-Man movies is that they are going for his boring ass successor Scott Lang. Scott isn’t a bad character but his most memorable stories have all been linked to his origin, daughter or his death. Hank Pym was a founding Avenger in the comics, has been linked to several stories and identities but he gets passed over probably because of him hitting his wife in that one story while being mentally driven insane by a villain.
I am all fine for adaptations taking their different spins on comics/characters but that doesn’t sit right with me, them by passing Pym in favor of the boring Ant-Man that just hasn’t had any dirt (or memorable) stories with him at the center besides his origin.
Seems typical…I can’t wait till the day super hero movies are allowed to embrace their more adult elements as opposed to the shitty annoying PG13 nonsense we see all the time.
I was of the understanding that Pym will still be involved in the Antman movie, just not as Antman.

Imagine Super Mario Bros. Now imagine the '90s Super Mario Bros movie. That is what the Ant-Man movie is shaping up to be without having Pym as the lead IMO. Never mind the fact that it is literally coming out years from now because the main creative force is doing this as a side gig before Marvel movies blew up meaning they are probably going to try to sneak links in to the other movies while the movie itself is on its own.
I think Pym is there for the creation of the equipment and hopefully Ultron.
Pym is a lot better then the new antman…although I do enjoy him on the current FF4 run.
Scott Lang is on FF not O’Grady.
