A wave of nostalgia washed over me this evening as I played ST. Thanks for playing host, Beasly. That was really fun. Old skool gaming, where everyone only had 3 moves, and you just played guessing games. Then, umbrellastyle whoop’ed me with the ugliest black character in the history of games.
If I were black, I’d be offended by DJ. I’m Chinese, and I’m hella offended by Chun Li. I’ve never seen a Chinese woman in hair buns. Not once in person. And I’ve only ever seen Chinese women wear silk dresses during public festivals, and never a high cut one like that. Most egregious, how come most of her quotes are in Japanese? Cammy speaks English, Guile speaks American, Geif speaks Russian, Blanka speaks freak, how come Chun Li speaks Japanese? I think that the only Chinese line she has is “thanks”.
Why didn’t you just call one of us? I wuz there, I could have given you directions.

That cab is fucking tight. I’m always afraid of the fat man’s burden though. Playing with Japanese parts, on a cab that shakes as you play, I’m afraid that I’m going to break something. I seriously thought that the sticks were about to come off in my hand a couple of times.
Thank you all for coming. That was incredibly fun. I can’t tell you how cathartic it was to play T Hawk… I had given up on ever landing a piledriver again after playing on those ps2 sticks, but by the end of the night I felt like they were just coming out like butter :).
Umbrella: Those hawk vs dj matches were some of the most interesting and hard games I’ve ever played. I had to concentrate so much, and the matches were so close! Your combos are starting to get scary.
doughboy: Thanks for coming and learning ST. I’m really impressed at how good you became in such a short amount of time. You already have an above average Claw, and that’s after what… 5 hours?
Everyone else: Thanks for coming, and thanks for bringing the PS2 and sticks. If there is interest, I’d definitely like to make this a regular event.

Now that I’ve tried out boxer for a little, I can see why square gates are beneficial for slower games like ST. I’ve always known ST and KoF players preferred them. But I’d always get caught in the corners when pulling motions in faster games like Marvel.
A second cab would be sick. If games go down on Sunday, can I come?
