I got one today telling me I’m horrible and everyone in the SSF4 community hates my stupid name. In a casual endless battle, no less. Can anyone enlighten me? (If you’re not too busy hating my stupid name.) :smiley: I beat another guy with 2000pp more than me 6 rounds in a row using Hakan. Later I switched to Ryu and lost a few games very narrowly and he starts getting cocky and taunting me then sends me a message asking whether all I can do is wait and mash dp (if all you can do is jump at me randomly, then I don’t see why not!).

Honestly, I can see the funny side, but hatemail still kind of spoils my mood when I’m playing for fun. Personally, win or lose, when people are friendly and show sportsmanship it makes playing more enjoyable.

Do these people really expect us to play purposely in a way that pleases them? And does hatemail really make them feel better than being friendly? I’m so confused… :stuck_out_tongue:

This thread has become a real troll fest! Well before the mods close this thread I got another IM today! Basically I was playing this Balrog with 9k BP on ranked. It came down to the last match and I beat him using Guy with a whiffed EX Izuna Drop into Ultra 1. After the match I message him with “GG! You’ve got a soild Balrog!” This jackass proceeds to reply me with “Fuck you! Your Guy is garbage!” Knowing me, I just can’t let shit like that go. So, I replied with “It was good enough to beat your Balrog!” He replied with “FUCK YOU BITCH!!!” I said “Sorry, bro. I don’t swing that way, but I’ll let your mom take a crack at it!” After that, I proceeded to add him to my block list. I love PSN!

I don’t even know? I can admit I get frustrated at times, but this guy takes the cake. It’s such a shame to I hate adding good players to my block list because of their bad sportsmanship. However, I definitely don’t want to play someone with that type of attitude. They can literally suck you in to their hateful little world. Like most here I just want to play and have fun.

played a game against a juri player a couple weeks back now, me playing as sim, anyway in the first round i got pretty much decimated, didnt get many hits in but whatever, 2nd round i managed to win, and then the 3rd round i pretty much destroyed him, he lost about half of his life just needlessly jumping into my anti air moves and then not even blocking when he landed from the reset, so more free damage for me there.

anyway, after the match he sends me

now the lag wasnt even that bad, sure it was there, but not enough to massively effect play, i was still able to block most of his crossups on reaction and all my anti airs were coming out when i wanted them, this had been maybe my 2nd game of the day usually if the lag is bad then ill stop pretty early on.
i sne t him one saying ‘normally my connection is fine so get off my case’

then he sends me a big long spiel saying
’figures really - sim player lags the game so he can mash FP ftw - 1st round was fine, then came the lag-ur obviously an inconsiderate fuck on a shared connection or downloading porn, fuck off back to single player where you belong dickhead’

so i replied along the lines of ‘if i wanted to really abuse lag i would play as ken and spam lp srk, lag had nothing to do with fact you kept jumping into my anti airs and not even block on the reset. i have more of a life to lag a game on purpose so i can win.’ something like that.

seriously though, lag is expected online occasionally, and ive played some REALLY laggy games before thats more like a slideshow than SF, and ive never once felt the urge to send abusive messages accusing the other player of doing it on purpose.
