They really shouldn’t have nerfed Banishing Flat, Gief cannot create any momentum any more.

Those were some PGs (Patient games) but I think Itabashi was playing too cowardly for a Gief lol. He could of LP SPD soo many of those Rekkas (especially with the new range). Should not have been that easy for Mago. EX GH not knocking down on Fei or Chun makes the mixup afterwards quite scary if Gief has ultra 2.

yeah, but that will only be a low % guess that will work once or twice. he cant rely on parlor tricks to win matchups.

geif definately took a hard hit there. but i guess it as the only way to make sure he didnt fuck up every character with poor wake up after 1 KD. unless they wanted to give everyone good wake up. couldnt imagine the amount of people crying about reversal fighter 4 then tho.

Is anyone else hoping, as I am, that Capcom is planning one more complete balance review? I don’t like that Fei Long does so much damage, and so easily.

This is just painful. 2 openings and Ryu is at ~40% life. That’s not even Zangief levels of damage.

There’s a bunch of silly shit in the game that could do with being removed. Mostly it’s stuff that’s easy/overly safe to do for the reward you get, such as retarded backdashes like Chun-Li’s and Rose’s, or completely brainless “my moves are better than your moves” playstyles like Balrog’s, but I’d be fine if they just nerfed Fei’s damage a little and had a more serious look at Yun and Yang. I don’t know how retarded they are, or even if they are at all, but it couldn’t hurt to just take another look at them.

If we’re talking high level here then 40% life is about right for 2 openings but one of them wasn’t an opening but a guess and Evans happened to guess right and get free damage. If he missed that Tenshin he would have taken 30-40% damage back.

If we replace Fei’s CW with a jump in (in that same situation) then most characters would get more than what he did. I know for sure Cody (my main) would and I’m pretty sure Dudley would too. That’s the risk whole reason it’s high level play. If you give them a chance they’ll take full advantage of it.

@ the second paragraph. Chun and Rose’s backdash can be Option Selected and if they do it during blockstrings then they’re only pushing themselves to the corner. Balrog’s normals are very simple to use but they aren’t invincible, you just have to outfootsie him (it’s difficult I know but not impossible). The reason Fei’s damage is so ridiculous is because it wasn’t nerfed from Vanilla where everyone did retarded damage.

dont you play dudley. he does a fuck ton more damage than fei. besides, fei is walking a fine line. he has a ton of 5-5s that quickly turn to 4-6 with too many damage reductions.

i’ll agree he needs the flame kick damage reduced, and probrablly the dmg raw CWs do needs a reduction, but everything else is just fei getting either punnish combos or wearing his oponent down 150dmg at a time

what sort of reductions do you think would be fair? keep in mind the majority of his matches are 5-5

Ch’yeah I play Dudley, but that damage does NOT come as easily as it does for Fei. Seriously chicken wings are free. Safe on block, invulnerable, great hitbox that can even hit you out of the air (come on, that is some bullshit) and lead to fat combos afterward.

EVERYTHING Dudley does, on block, is unsafe. Jet upper is unsafe, machine gun blow, mp, hp and EX versions are all unsafe, and lp is command grab punishable, ducking straight is unsafe, ducking upper is unsafe, short swing blow is unsafe, thunderbolt is unsafe, cr.rh is unsafe, blocked st.rh xx lk.duck is unsafe, hell even cross counter is unsafe if you counter an armoured move (cross counter doesn’t break armour, rofl).

Fei needs less damage on his DP and his Rekkas. EX DP should be, like, 140 damage. The rest can be 100-130 or something. Rekkas do what, ~170 damage? That’s way too fucking much. The first hit is completely safe and you can fish for the rest of that damage all fucking day.

You can CW much easier on reaction than you can jump on reaction.

Comparing ex chicken wing to other anti fireball special moves, and you can see the damage output is much much better.

viper, 2 openings, ~80% damage.

im not gonna argue chickenwing as a good move, but its not half as free as you think.

the post combo dmg is whats amazing. which is why i think a nerf for the cw raw dmg would be fair.

it’ll be less amazing in AE since it wont be used on wakeup. not much else you can do to it before it becomes useless tho. see the vanilla CW for example, with more start up

Their backdashes don’t save them from being free on wakeup, though.

It’s not wakeup that’s the problem, it’s having to constantly fill your blockstrings with option selects whilst looking out for reversals. Not all characters have very good option selects for dealing with backdashes, mind you. And just because you can option select it, doesn’t mean it isn’t stupid to get out by just pressing back a couple times when I just so happen to NOT be option selecting, you know, when I’m trying to land some real damage.

It’s fucking hilarious to have to work against Chun’s and Rose’s monumental bullshit to get inside, and then when you do, you have to work against their silly backdashes just to keep them there. It’s like you have to get inside twice.

I mean it’s not like they have to constantly option select their zoning, is it? Why is the onus on me to find ways around the game mechanics once I finally earn my entry into potential damage? I outplayed your zoning and got inside, now I have to outplay your fucking backdash too. Fuck that.

I have no problem with backdashes in general, but Chun Li’s, Rose’s and hell, even Makoto’s backdashes might as well be fucking mini-teleports.

I just look at my characters anti fireball move that does 110 damage and can be ultra’d on hit by two characters, and i wonder why I don’t just play Fei.

Someone tell capcom to buff his walking speed so I can play him.

If Chun or Rose or someone backdashes in the middle of a block string, in general I usually consider it a mini victory because they’re that much closer to the corner.

But yeah, backdashes are still stupid in this game. Not a fan of having invincibility on backdashes.

yeah, but the damage he gets from it is offset by it not being that great without really good reactions. if you are outside the range of that initial kick, youre gonna get dp’ed. and you can forget it vs guile or chun
