I think this right here is a pretty telling statement about how much BS Yun is when the complaint in a matchup is “I can’t do this move randomly”.
Haha real talk right here.

Man Poongko makes Seth look S-Tier. Fuck the arcadia tier list, and again goes to show it’s a lot more about the player than the character. He even bodied mago for an hour for all those naysayers that argued he didn’t participate in international tourneys.
Regarding tiers and balance, the bottom tier (Hakan, Dan, T. Hawk) now fares much better against the rest of the cast. I’ll go as far as to say the the jist of the cast is a lot better balanced now than in super, most of the lopsided matchups like Seth vs Gief/Hawk/Hakan, Cammy vs Dhalsim, Blanka vs Rog, Dic vs Guile, etc, got a lot better and there are only a few spikes of imbalance, namely Yun, Yang and maybe Fei.
Balance make the choices of of characters better but doesn’t make the game more fun. AE is more fun because it is more offensive, that is all i care about!
Yun, Yang, Fei, Makoto rape half of the cast but the other half fights against them just fine. And these characters are so good that fighting against them always keeps you on your toes. AE wins!

Sad thing is that there are many situations like this. Character can punish escape DP? “I have to block? Laaaaaame”
Really? Why? because he can bitchslap faster with jabs?
Also didn’t GiPie drop Fuerte?
edit: nope. Apparently he did not lol. Good to know.

I think he said that in response to EmblemLord’s post.
Maybe you were thinking of TKD, who did drop him for Rog.

Super was not a defensive game, the 3 best characters (cammy, akuma, fei) are rushdown and in most tournaments charge chars did nothing. The only way to deal with yun/yang pressure for 90% of the cast is mashing shit out of there and hope for the best, AE may be better or worse but adding 2 new retarded characters with unreactable dive kicks and a command grab just makes the game more random, not more “offensive”.
jabs, run stop fierce easier, some other stuff. go check their forum. they all seem happy
Yesterday on the levelup, UltraDavid stated that Justin wong said that “Yang will end up being the best character, not Yun”
Yun has better pressure due to his faster dive kick, BnBs lead to a knock down for more mix-ups where Yang’s BnB knocks the opponent far away, lunge punch is great to punish from far away
Yang has that command dash great for mix up, DP kick can Fadc, yun’s can not, can set up both ultras mid combo off a fadc, has 2 versions of palm, Jumping Mk can cross up
Opinions?
They are both bs, yun just happens to deal more damage while yang has better ultras. I like them tho. Even though akuma has a hard time vs them i’m liking ae more than super
I do kinda feel Yang is the better twin as a Bison player.

They are the two best mix up characters. The main difference is Yang is balanced offensively and defensively. Yun is just stupidly good offense. When facing pressure Yang can block, back dash, ex teleport, and dp fadc into U2. Yun can block, back dash, and hk dp.
Yang’s defensive options are more varied and safer. Plus Yangs up close pressure game is safer due to his jab being godlike. They both have great mid range pokes.
Yang has much stronger fundamentals. He is a SF char and still takes advantage of the engine being able to FADC his moves into Ultra for high damage giving him very strong comeback potential. I think Yun can be more random and scrub out wins with nonsense, while yang will end up more dangerous once they are both mastered.

I wouldn’t say their divekicks are impossible to react to. I play chun, and it’s pretty fun to keep a down charge and wait until you see that kick coming, then scramble them up with ex SBK. I don’t really know about shotos though. Do their srks trade with dive kicks?

I agree that Yang is better. I’d argue that the matchups that can be considered hard for the twins are less hard for Yang, if that makes sense. Since he has actual footsies (though definetly not the best), chip damage, FADC and better way out of pressure, fighting Sagat, Gief, T. Hawk, Bison, etc is easier. The downside of course is that against characters who you can go crazy on the offensive like Makoto, Cody, Sakura, etc Yun fares better.
Also, not related to tiers, but Yang is harder to play as than Yun and has less braindead stuff. I don’t see many people complaining about him, although he’s definetly very strong.
Agreed with the AE is more fun part.
Honestly, think how good the twins are is so overblown. Yes they are the best, but reading/listening to people talk I would think that all their matchups were 7-3/8-2 which I think isn’t the case whatsoever. Sure they obliterate a lot of the lower tiers but in what game doesn’t this happen?
Personally, I think people just hate pressure/blocking. People freak out when the twins close in and want to press buttons. I have been noticing against Yang that players will block his first 2 cr. lk and then the 3rd connects… why?
As far as who is better I think Yang will be the better of the 2. Yun gets in easier than Yang does but Yang gets out of pressure much easier than Yun, which is the deciding factor IMO. With their low health they can’t take too much of a beating and Yang can at least FADC his DP to make it Safe. With Yun you are totally guessing, and when you guess wrong you get punished hard.

I dont think yang gets away easier than yun, his dp while being fadcable is not great because how easy is to make it whiff at short range with a simple back step, and you can grab him out of teleport. Yun srk at least is hard to punish for some characters or not punishable with max damage, and it still gets you out of the corner for free, auto corrects for free and wins most crossups or goes away to other side.
I didnt mean like" IF I SHOULDER IT I WIN RIGHT?" i meant that if you try to shoulder, you’ll either get hit by the TS, or by sagat. Didnt mean to make it sound scrubby ;D
I missed the post you were replying to, so it’s all good. Though I imagine that IS actually the thought process of some of the garbage Yuns I’ve been destroying with Makoto.
“Y CAN I NO DP FO FREE? HE DID HOW MUCH DAMAGE OH MY GOD THIS IS BULLCRAP”
