Hey I’m down the road from this place and I’d like to play. I’m a sorta decent chun player and an awful makoto player.
I have two 360 sticks, and one PS3 stick (two madcatz TEs and one homemade for 360) and a madcatz pad if anyone prefers pad play. no monitor or tv to bring though.
I can’t come to the one this saturday, I have a trip to michigan for family already planned, but I’d be down for the 19th and any events after that.
I think I had emailed you about this at stonefire before but you had said the scene was dead. let’s try to bring some life back into it!

Eh, fine, we’ll see what happens. I have no expectation of any tournament at this point. I’ll simply work with whatever happens, whoever shows up.
I think the main problem is that, aside from some technical stuff, it seem like you’re going to be splitting up the community with this. You had a good time at The Tracks tourney, right? Why schedule something that will conflict with that at a time when our scene isn’t big enough to support simultaneous events?
yeah switch it back to sundays so I can make it hahahaha but seriously if whatever tournament at the tracks is being held on sat. why not make it on sundays. then it’ll be like a run it back event u know.
also reading ur posts there doesn’t seem like u really give a rats ass about it. be more positive. ppl r gona complain, criticize, and whatever but in the end everyones up for it as long as they can make it.
also, if u want ppls attention u have to keep up with the questions ppl r throwing at you. i mean, u haven’t checked up on this thread at all and when you finally post it’s a negative attitude. you think ppl really wana see that kinda stuff? if you want to make it happen, make it happen. visit other ppls thread and invite ppl who are close by like IL, MN, MI, whatever the case maybe. you get enough ppls interest in this it can be good and explode to a big ass tournament that you won’t be able to handle yourself and then you’re gona have to start asking for ppls help. but u have to seriously start thinkin positive and big.
i mean c’mon you post this shit and just expect ppl to see and come. if ur not into it, other ppl sure as hell ain’t gona b into it. until u start caring more ppl will start caring. i mean i’ve offered suggestions in the past, and tried to advertise where i could and to ppl who would be interested. sure it didn’t go as well but ppl hear and know about it. i got my friend from janesville to come and if things keep up going good you’ll be able to pull ppl from other areas of WI too.
but then lets face reality here now. i know ppl wana come n play n get better or whatever it is. but you REALLY have to do something about that prize payout. i mean if u wana make it big, ppl r gona b expecting cash. i know the store might not agree with it, but then thats when u have to get a different venue and make it happen. then that’ll bring other states into the picture. but, that’s IF you really wana make it a hit. and make sure to schedule it away from other events that are going on too.
u can have a weekly think or monthly thing for local ppl. then once every now and again try to throw something big. it’s all about how bad u want this to happen and how much u have love for this game and community. if it’s all a front then don’t expect to get far with it. but that’s all i have to say…

I won’t make any attempt to defend myself on this. I accept that I am simply bad at organizing tournaments, so I simply will not make any further attempts to do so. Just as bad game designers should not be making more games, bad tournament organizers should not be making more tournaments. The second “tournament” is obviously cancelled.
I still say you should come to The Tracks on the 19th.
everyone makes mistakes as they go along. its about the effort that you put into it that counts. sure there’s things that will go wrong and ppl will bitch and complain. but thats just how the way things are. most ppl may not show it in the most sincere way or whatever but everyone appreciates what one does for the community and the game they love.
im not saying stop doing what you’re doing. im voicing and helpin you to know what ur up against and be on the look out for. telling what u can improve on and work on to make the experience a well worth wild for ppl who show up and make them wana come back for more over and over.
i would say don’t give up. keep doing what u do. but what can i really say or do to make u do what u wana do. it’s ur choice and what u wana do with it. i’d be out there to give it my support but ur holding it on days i can’t make it. but like i said, for all the others im sure they are willing to come. just don’t bump into dates with other events. talk to the ppl who run events at the tracks and work out a nice schedule. u can make things happen at both places and ppl will come to both.
all i have to say is giving up is not the way to go though. u’ve held ur events before and obviously we know he first few weren’t fantastic but i’ve expected mistakes to be made from an uknown person and first timer. but u should know by now what ppl want and expect so you should be prepared for it. but then again this wasn’t meant for some ppl to do. so yea…
if you decide to keep going with the idea, then keep posting n let us know. like i said, if it’s a time i can make it, i’ll be there for sure and im sure others r willin to come.
