SSF4 Guile Changes & Discoveries

I think it’s just hype. Personally, as soon as I tried it, it was obvious that it was a one-frame link (if it wasn’t you could mash it out) but it still felt easier. Things like Ryu’s f.fp > c.fp felt easier too, his f.mp > c.lp also feels very, very easy. I have to wonder if they maybe made some kind of link forgiveness for one framers?

Can we start moving this discussion to the move-set thread?

I’ll go through this one and make the updates over the next couple of days.

wow, have you ever landed that combo in a real match? I havent

Took me a while but I have done it against Abel often (ex SB doesn’t help you against a good Abel so you end up with a Super fairly fast), Honda and one on a Ryu by sheer luck.
key to landing it is having it as muscle memory and just mash it out without thought.
I’ve tried to land it in the beginning by looking for a chance, fishing and it never presented itself.
Then I practiced it to the point of doind it on the fly from any jump-in and it really pays off…not often do you get to jump in on someone…when you do, give it all you got

well I can do it and I have it in my muscle memory, but it will be impossible now since I use ultra 2 and the damage is not worth is with SH. I stick to s.hp, hk.FK cant get any better than that for a two hit combo.

Mention this to Sosage and see what can be done. It’s great they we have an active mod trying to help us with the Guile section. I would suggest closing the redundant threads which will help direct us to the newly created/organized sticky threads.

Agreed…but after playing for the first time last night (had Super before it came out but not my XBOX :frowning: ), I can see using U1 against some players using certain characters. Knowing that you can get one of the hardest hitting combos in is nice…even better when they know it as well :stuck_out_tongue:

some interesting rufus info

was in training mode with a buddy of mine who was using rufus…

apparently rufus instant dive kick will not hit guile. he has to do it pretty high to get the hit.

guile doesn’t even have to block. the kick will miss… (i wasn’t even holding the joystick, just watching)

not sure how this will help… any suggestions?

I’ve been working on learning Rufus recently and I noticed that too against Guile in practice. Fromw hat i’m hearing, it’s based on each character’s hit box. With Boxer, Zangief and some other characters, Rufus has to hit them with the dive kick from their knees up. Looks like Guile could be added to that list too.
