No I like his main still more. It has made him the way he is now and not a boring hero like in final fight

Yeah, I like Final Fight and all but 80’s blue jeans, a wife beater, and trashy tattoos is not good design. Nostalgia is nice and all, but damn, take off those rose tinted glasses and see that shit for what it is.

I personally have very mixed feelings in regards to Cody’s alt…
On one hand I like the idea of a modernized Final Fight outfit. I fully expected tattoos, especially considering that this game was made in Japan and tattoos are very strongly linked to the Yakuza in Japan. Also, as much as I would have preferred no tattoos at all, the tattoos he got aren’t that bad.
The only element that really bothers me is that he still has the handcuffs on… So far we haven’t seen a single move that uses the cuffs, so it doesn’t seem necessary to have them on…
However, if it turns out that he does have a move that uses the cuffs than I withdraw my remark. Also, there is still hope that the tenth version of his costume will be without cuffs (maybe without tattoos as well?).
Think that the nostalgia part is the thing that save his Alt.
Additions like tattos,the brass knuckles,the handcuffs are what ruin this outfit

I think I’d like white t-shirt + jeans better than prison stripes even if Final Fight had never existed. Regular American Guy is a design that fits in with Karate Guy, Sumo Guy, Ninja Guy (ie Guy). I prefer that kind of design to anime-ish, design-y type designs like Viper and Juri. Besides, his main costume makes it look like they put him away for stealing Cookie Crisp.
By the way, it would be great if there was a compiled list in the OP post listing every character and pics for their new costume(s).
If you want something even funnier, running the kanji they sue for Akuma (at least in the Japanese tier list) through Google translate nets you “Australian Oni.”

Anyway, I think Cody’s alt would be much better if it were more like his original FF suit. Meaning, no wife beater and tattoos. Capcom seems to be going out of their way to make him look like trailer trash.

If he doesn’t have any moves that use the cuffs, he still stands and moves around like hes wearing them. If they took the cuffs off him he would look pretty stupid. Look at his animation and you’ll see what I mean.
