tokido’s gouki is not master anymore. He lost alot of BP. i guess getting 40k+ is not that easy.
I wonder if arcade rankings is better than tourneys like gg-online for gauging the strength of the top players (with their chosen characters)…
I wouldn’t think so. The arcade rankings are just people grinding out as many matches as they can, it’s a result of playing a lot. Nothing shows the strength of players like player vs player does.

There was one on 25th Dec last year. Then theres that NSB one the other day. And i guess there were a few others in other prefectures.
I don’t think getting to master is the result of playing a lot. It takes a lot of skill to get there, in fact grandmaster may be even harder to achieve. Also, a lot of the top ranked players have a good win loss ratio of 80 % or more which is a good indicator of how good the player is.
Its a combination of both playing a lot and winning a lot(you cant get to such BP by playing an hour a day, i doubt it), although at higher BP you need to fight high BP opponents to gain a significant amount 50-100+ or you’ll just get 5-10+ per win. To me, most players above 25k BP are legit, although theres always chances that they dont know certain matchups so well. I got to 10k+ BP on the release day, and 20K around the same week or maybe the week after(and im not that good), but yeah im stuck at that since I mostly play at my local arcades, and excluding a few good players, the rest are somehow not on my level and beating them doesnt reward me so much. Plus its best of 5 rounds so it takes longer to finish a match. Some arcades set best of 3, quicker to win and keep raking the points.
As for how good a player really is. You need to see them in action for yourself plus thats what tournies are for imo. Its not wrong to gauge a players strength from looking at his BP, just sayin that its not everything.

well, with the way players are losing points, i would say gaining points is not JUST a result of playing a lot, anymore. unlike vanilla

That’s really weird. So if you had like 20k BP and someone else had 200 BP and you lost to them, you wouldn’t lose as much as say, if you fought someone with 19k BP? o_O
No, Dashio is dashio who used Viper in SF4. Aojiru Guile is someone else.

The brackets is his previous vanilla name and title. (Grandmaster SF4 viper IS dashio, meaning that he previously was called dashio in SF4 but in AE, he goes Shin Aojiru Guile instead.
Aojiru Guile is a completely different person in vanilla who used Boxer. I don’t know what he’s called or who he used in AE. I don’t know why he used his name and added Shin as well (Shin meaning in this case true or geniune) so yeah…
