Can anyone confirm DP > backFADC > ultra 2 ? because rockman85 is right, you can clearly see akuma moving forward in the beginning animation of ultra 2. This would also lead to the ‘using the other ultra for a different playstyle’ as this would ease up akuma rushdown (as in ultra 1 was more for defensive purposes)

because Akuma is 2nd or 3rd in tier list WITHOUT having a comboable ultra…if he’d have one he’d be totally overpowered.
Just think of Ryu or sagat without their srk fadc ultra setups…would they still be on the top? I don’t think so.
I think you just get used to the character you like and don’t feel like changing. I know I get really pissed when I play a gouki as level or better than me, that matchup is really hard as a Ken player.
So why use Ken? Gouki can do everything he can only better, and S.HK is just as good if not better than step kick.

Well, i’m an Akuma main and i think a comboable Ultra might be too much 
Havent seen all the godsgarden matches but seeing the results, the akumas (momochi and tokido) beasted the whole competition 
Akuma is already top tier (number 3-5) without his ultra and he would be pure overkill with one. It would screw up the balance but i really hope Ryu and Sagat also get the necessary nerfs…

And Tokido was straight beasting at GG. He was whooping ass.

From what I’ve seen, Akuma is second top, Daigo’s the only Ryu who can touch Momochi, and if Ryu gets caught in a decent Akuma’s vortex, he’s toast.

You can clearly see that his combos using standing hk are still there and are not difficult to perform, as some rumors had it.
Yeah but thats because it only got extra startup (1 frame i believe) so you can’t combo into it (counter hit cr.mp maybe and exeption?) but you can stil follow up with an attack after it.
Any new info about the recovery time of Sagat’s tiger shots (TS juggle anyone?) or his roundhouse? I dont really understand yet why they gave him a new move of all people…

There’s alot of things that capcom did that no one really understands.
- Why did they give fei/cammy a counter ultra?
- Why did they nerf vipers M.TK?
- Why did they give the 3S characters so many more options in general than the old school cast?
I’m sure there’s more but dudley being able to do 40% hp off an overhead that is fast is retarded, combine that with his sweep that JUGGLES.

From what I have seen, the Akuma far Roundhouse issue is regarding standing up crouching opponents in combos after an FADC fireball, not using it as a poke as a combo starter. It is still a great poke.
Counter hit crouching Strong can still be followed up by a sweep for Vortex options instead. You can not hit confirm into far Roundhouse however from the counter hit.

From Eventhubs via a guy who was at the recent tourney in France. He got to speak with Daigo, Eita and Fuudo:
“Oh yeah, Daigo, Eita and Fuudo tested SSF4 (not the final release, no Hakan there), and for those who are interested in this, Eita managed to land Gouki’s Ultra 2 during a Demon Slide.”
Holy shit. So now we have:
- U2 via tele cancel
- U2 via EX air ball lead-in
- U2 via SRK > FADC > backdash (?)
- U2 via demon flip slide.
Good news for us. Obviously this is all to be confirmed via video AND set in stone for the retail version, but things sound promising.
So if it is true then the U2 looks promising even though it looks retarded but with combos like that it can easily go to nearly 490-510 in damage…Well we need some vid for conformation on this but I know I’m going to check it out myself.
