Yeah Akuma is so OP, he rules the world as you can see,and he derserves nerfs.
I personaly think Zangief’s 360 LP should be nerfed too,because its range is unfair for most of the cast in AE,if you want to go in that way.

Take a look at the S tiers BP ranking,and realize who destroy this game.

I think Akuma was top tier in Super. There was no reason for him not to be. He’s just been underutilized since Vanilla. The only big names who stuck with him were Tokido and Infilitration. Eita occasionally, but he didn’t really participate in many majors. The rest just never really excelled with him. Kinda like how Gamerbee beasted with Adon, but noone else did anything noticeable with him.

I find it funny that somehow akuma is getting more hate than yun right now. Did we just pick up everyone who complained about yun because they have no one else to complain about now?

Cr.Lk comes out when doing crouch tech, so it’s my (and not only mine) combo starter and a go-to move for hitconfirms. So yeah, we have a lot of implacations for crLK, just the fact that we crouch tech with it means that it’s our block-string AND combo starter.

Yes, it does, but it is 8f move that usually gets beaten by normals and you need to confirm that it is CH or you are dead(although it is 3f link).

Akuma is the target now because so much of the rest of the cast is so dumbed down. The character provides a lot of opportunity for comparison based criticisms. To me it represents a failure to separate theory fighting from the reality of actual play but some would argue that actual play is irrelevant.

Akuma is a target because their players are soooo salty. I’m not saying it’s fair, but that’s just how it is. Blanka got the same treatment by the rest of SRK when his ball was nerfed. The only difference was that we didn’t drown in our own tears lol.

It sounds like your criticisms are motivated by trolling instead of attempts to make the game better.

That people misconstrue a reasonable alternative to the st.hk nerf as trolling should tell you what’s wrong with the Akuma forums, and SRK in general.

I’m not gonna get into a big meta discussion about this, but it’s true. If you disagree, fine. But keep in mind most of the last few pages of this thread has been nothing but moaning by Akuma players themselves. I came into this thread with a reasonable suggestion, not to troll anyone. What did I get? People mocking my “deep knowledge” about a basic OS. Not that I did it in anyway, but how can you expect not to be a target when this is how people discuss things here?

It is because the change you are suggesting is rediculously unproductive. What good will nerfing standing lk do? In short nothing.

See what I am getting tired of is people complaining about game fundimentals rather than character attributes. Safe jumps, OSes, and other core elements to the game. And worse yet most characters similar or even nastier set ups for their OSes. Overall people are just whining for th sake of whining. I doubt half the players on this forum even understand Akuma let alone how to fight a good one

It gets rid of the st.hk OS, which means one less situation that Gouki can use it. This is miles better than nerfing the entire move. Or don’t you agree with that?

I think I understand what you are saying. You are making an “if Akuma needs to be nerfed, do this instead because it’s more reasonable” argument. I see your point. Whether or not your suggestion is a better nerf is debatable but I understand what you are trying to do.

My response to C2Q was my belief as to why Akuma is the target of nerf requests and basically always will be. The character dominates in theory because of the relative weakness of the rest of the cast. Akuma players will always lose the theory fighter / comparison based argument. It’s difficult for the character to exist in this game without being criticized if we are unable to separate theory from reality. I am not specifically directing this to you.

…I wonder if part of the difference here is that Blanka players were not overwhelmingly happy with their character prior to the nerf. I think that the negative reaction from the Akuma community is often so strong because they actually like the way that their character plays while simultaneously feeling that he legitimately isn’t OP. Non Akuma players may disagree with this.

Why does he need to get nerfed in the first place?

I’ve yet to see someone proving that this character is so OP and so dominant in tourneys to need such nerfs.

Be thankful glad Capcom didn’t think like this when they nerfed Viper’s BK frames on block after Vanilla…

I couldn’t care less about what happened in the past tbh. It’s about what they’re doing now.

That matchup isn’t even that good, just search for Tokido’s vid against japanese Hawks.
