that match is confusing. I feel there’s a separation between mid > low dhalsims and FUCKING GDLK DHALSIMS. If anyone watched FGTV tuesday, I fought Champs dhalsim one game and I had no god damn fucking clue what to do. It made me feel like i had just started playing this game for the first time and it was because of dhalsim constantly doing shit.
Ok so heres my analysis after a recent tournament.
1- The Dudley matchup against Iperu, some of this info my be obvious but i experienced all of this in my match.
I fought him in tournament first and i know everything i did wrong. First off, You shouldn’t use st.HK. If he crouches it only hits once which just by saying that is enough to know you shouldnt do it. Second, it seems that you cant do c.mk > fireball moreso than you can. I got ducked under soooooo many times and i realize throwing fireballs seems null in this matchup. Third, you shouldnt teleport too often especially if they have meter. Machinegun blow doesnt even need to be o/s’d to fuck up the teleport. Fourth, if they have U1 or meter, you cant just throw out sweep. You can eat U1 or even if they have meter they can EX duck into fierce it. Fifth, Dudley’s AA normals are pretty good, i was really afraid to jump because of MP or something like that, kind of like Cody’s b.MP.
All in All, this matchup i need to revise. I believe it’s 5-5 because Dudley can hella punish Akuma if he gets touched, but Akuma can really hurt Dudley’s wakeup game if you can get the knockdown, which i never did.
2- The Ibuki matchup.
The only question i have is how do you punish EX upkicks with U2, by teleporting and doing it or doing it raw? the teleport i understand doing when she goes for kunai, but often i tried to punish it raw and couldnt.
but thats about it, oh and i mindfucked a Blanka today with that fwd. throw setup. He got extremely furious because i always DF palm when he has meter and will ALWAYS DFK when he doesnt. DFK, if timed right, can stuff all of Blanka’s non-meter specials.
chat this up yo
Akuma/Dudley is Akuma’s favor. The only pokes you need are cr mk and st hp. Honestly cr mk is so good in the matchup you will think you’re playing Super Ryu. Only use sweep if you have u1 stocked or for OS. Dudley is pretty free on wake up as you can avoid all his good reversals or you can OS all his escapes.
Speaking of Ibuki id like to know why that MU is listed as 6-4 Ibuki in the tier list thread. I dont feel like that MU favors Ibuki.

I like ,“at my poor level”, start the Dudley match up like I would if I was Guile. Fireball at range, mobility one the ground, and waiting for his attempts to walk forward with my far HP ready or cr:mk: xx HK tatsu. Once they stop trying to get lucky hits or duck, the match is easier.
But as soon as they get in, it’s very hard against good Dudleys their frame traps lead to heavy damage.
Almost beat Iperu’s Dudley in tourney this Ranbat, I accidentally threw one fireball and i died, but it came down to the final round.
What i believe this matchup is supposed to be played, i think you have to be patient as fuck. If you can hitconfirm fireballs, then i guess you can throw them. Other than that i don’t throw them at all. Try to maintain your composure in the corner and you have to especially be patient with his high-low mixup. This match up is scary, but i really enjoyed how surprisingly well i player against it.

In Akuma mirror match, what can I do to counter constant jump back air fireball? I only know focusing through them, eventually I cornered him but he teleport out and repeat. Are there any way I can stop this strat before he reaches corner?
Thanks
stay close, and just walk under them.

Technically impossible, the srk comes out before you can block if you make a jump attack. There’s some setups that cause srk to whiff though (and safe empty jump should be possible as far as I know, that gets to a can-block state 2 frames faster than a jump attack)
I’ve seen a few players buffer inputs into their AA cr.fierces and I got the idea to buffer lk tatsu into it against gouken. If he does demonflip parry he land right into the tatsu and can be juggled afterwards. And if it causes an air reset Akuma recovers in time. Not a 100% go to tactic but its something to add to your defense.
Buffer LK demonflip. You can choose to palm or kick depending on what he does.
Used this a few times tonight. Good stiff.

Hey guys, I need your help.
I’m playing the best Abel here in Brazil this Sunday on an event. It will be a streamed match. He is Keoma, the guy who almost defeated Tokido on this casual match () and got 3rd in the tournament we had here who Gamerbee and Tokido participated. He is pretty solid.
I’ve read the matchup and I kinda have a little experienced. But the thing is, I haven’t being practicing heavily like I did last year so I’m with some safejump and perfect x-tatsu timings off. (Like, he usually stuffs my x-tatsus with s.hp and I know that if they were perfectly timed, I should hit him before the move comes out)
What do you guys think I should practice the most? I was thinking in getting the timing of setups after s.lp/sweep perfect because I know most of the time we’ll hit Abel with the palm whiff into c.lk, s.lp, whiff. So if I get this timing perfect it should help anyway.
So, if anybody can share their tips, I’d really appreciate it!
Thanks!
i need help on DJ matchup guys
Don’t you think you could focus on punishment ? like having an answer ready for his axe kick and his failed COD on block.
Maybe not after all, seeing his last video his not the kind of Abel to give a full COD on block, and recklessly pokes with axe kick.
He likes to reversal ex throw on wake up though…

DJ is causing me problems as well. Dunno what the fuck to do. His jump is so hard to AA reliably. I swear it seems like all DJ players just mash random kick buttons and manage to win. Also is hard to safejump his ass.
Three tips against DJ:
[]mix anti-airs. c.mk > bnb works nicely against knee drop.
[]cross up tatsu > u2 is possible on DJ.

stand block when safejumping him. This prevents him from switching sides if he goes for light and medium upkicks and it ensures you don’t lose momentum.
If DJ is causing you problems your zoning and footsies are suspect.
thats cuz they are almost non-existent
