Honda’s EX HB can be fully stuffed for a full combo (not just air reset) with DF dive kick if timed properly. Also IIRC OS EX SRK will beat everything he has except EX buttslam which will escape, but I think it’ll travel too far away and Akuma will recover by the time Honda does.
Okay guys, I’m back. What’d I miss?
Yang matchup is a nightmare. Far, far worse than Yun. Especially a good Yang who will never throw out random pokes and just waits for you to whiff something. You have to be careful with your sweep too because of his st.lk
i know it sounds weird…but when i asked tokido about this he say its extremely hard for honda to actually do auto correct ex headbutt if u timed the x-tatsu correctly and that 1 raging demon can cost honda the game.
You can also just teleport xx U2 on reaction to any headbutt

Due to Hurricane Irene, moving to CT and then having to report to the Groton sub base, Part 3 has been heavily delayed. Believe me when I tell you any small amount of free time I have is currently devoted to finishing that video
God seth has to be the most retarded character in this game…its the same bullshit against every seth, just a 50/50 dp/spd mixup with that stupid tanden engine bullshit over and over…Jesus even yun/yang is easier than this bullshit of a matchup
/rant.
I use U2 vs Seth for that exact reason, since we can’t fuck with his highly invincible DPs, you can teleport and punish both whiffed SPDs or DPs on reaction with U2, at least it’ll make Seth think twice before going for the mixup.
Good idea, i always used u1 to try to punish predictable wall dives, but early dive kick will fuck you up. More importantly is how to punish that stupid tanden vacuum bullshit. From the frame data it seems like its safe on hit and block so what the fuck? All I can do yet again is guess. I usually just end up backdashing or neutral jumping and srking sometimes, but sometimes his cr.lk will fuck up my backdash, if i get predictable he would just wait and punish whatever I do. Teleport gets fucked up by u1 etc… so many seth players will just use it after a blockstring to bring you back, good ones don’t do it very predictably. And honestly about 80% of the time they do it, it results in free damage for them. Fucking stupid.
Can’t we say the same about Akuma and his stupidly powerful vortex? On people’s wakeup, Akuma’s options have him at like 60/40 advantage, probably better if you know your option selects. xD And Vanilla was even worse, how many OS could we do with instant-recovery DF throw?
I don’t know if you can really compare the two. Seth has better mixups imo. He doesn’t really have to worry about setups and character specific setups, literally half the time its just either getting caught by dp or spd. Really you can’t do much after his blockstrings other than teleport or backdash to be safe if you don’t want to guess, but getting predictable like that will get you punished hard anyway. I don’t even bother trying to tech throws against him most of the time. Have you played against JadedNoobGamer on PC?
During a long set with a decent Seth, I noticed out that doing an ex air fireball at the peak of your jump dodges his U1 and sometimes both fireballs hit so if you’re fast enough, he can be punished with a full combo. I wouldn’t exactly call it a fluke since it works every time I jump forward towards a Seth player with ultra meter.
Vortex is only powerful if you condition the opponent to block on wakeup instead of mashing out reversals or desperately trying to jump.
How the hell do you zone Juri? Any experience? Or should I give up on that and bring it to her face to face? Fullscreen divekicks, Focus counters etc. She has so many ways to counter fireballs.
You don’t zone her. She’s one of the best zoning characters in the game. Just walk towards her, she can’t do anything about it really. Ultra 2 is really good against her.
I believe so, I think he and I are about even. Regardless, you’re right. Seth is retarded and I end up scared like a little bitch fighting him, I respect Seths way too much and get SPD’d for my trouble.
Guys, I need to know what can be punished with what vs Deejay besides ultra and upkicks. His LK Sobat annoys me greatly, and his c.mk is even worse. Such a good normal.
Humm, u1 punishes pinwheel happy juris so I use that more, but yeah if Juri has you cornered, don’t press any buttons, like literally dont press a thing. Just block/tech and gtfo as soon as you can.
What do you do against Sim? I got knocked into Loser’s at a tourney recently by LuckyD’s Sim (might not have heard of him but his Sim is top notch)
Cant Demon Flip in, cause he just jump back strong. Can go toe to toe in fireballs but one slip up means f.hp. Anytime I actually do get in close I frame trap but hes patient and doesnt fall for it, he doesnt mash crouch tech so I cant throw him or jab jab DP to catch him mashing. I focus through f.hp but then get hit by a flurry of st.lk into back dash.
I just seriously dont know what to do in this match up. He knows Sim’s AAs like the back of his hands and his reactions are uncanny. Wish I had footage to show you.
is there anything possible to do after blocking standard scissor kick in mid screen decent range into ex psycho crusher?
or the best is to just block?
eg. after blocked scissor kick follow up ex psycho crush.
psycho crush 14 frame startup, s.lk (total frame 3,2,8) 13 frame. judging from that it should be feasible saying after blocking scissor kick 0 on block that i can stick out s.lk and make dictators
c.lk whiff
c.mk whiff (maybe)
psycho crush block.
i was thinking of using whiff s.lk and hope that its recovery is fast enough to block in time for the coming psycho crusher but not working well due to online perhaps.1 frame situation…how i wish s.lk recover even faster lol. 3,2,6 perhaps.
and its really hard to punish it as well after block ex psycho from that range.
I found a useful gimmick against Filipino Champ on Sim’s watching for the DF. Stand outside jumping strong range and do a small DF palm into kick teleport or just do a kick teleport. Many times they will react with a jump back strong which equals free U1/U2. This is fairly gimmicky so you want to use it sparingly.
As far as solid options go, I find you need to kara throw in this match and use ex tatsu to punish crouch tech. Sim players do throw tech as late as possible.
#337 anyone?
There are tricks you can use to get in on Sim. I actually got to watch a money match between infiltration and a Sim player. One thing I noticed Infiltration did was to use c.MP OS Demon Flip to hit Sim’s limbs. This provided a quick in on a successful hit.
Also another trick is when you are trying to buy space you can use dive kicks (both command and flip) to make it difficult for Sim to poke you at long range. The key is not to jump directly at him, his AA is too good for that. Instead use the dives to gain spacing on him and wait for a good moment to strike. This also might collect some health in the process.
You have to learn when you can get in fast and when you just have to take it slower. Blind aggression or lack of aggression won’t get you anywhere with Sim.
