And that’s exactly why I think some of the damage nerfs should be reverted for Honda. Man Ves, you know how to explain things much better than I do. I’m gonna quote you with this and tweet/pm Combofiend, haha.

As a loose start see what the character suffers from by looking at their own bad matches You can then use that information to adapt your own way of fighting that style with your character. Of course that doesn’t work for some matches where there’s no comparison and it’s a very loose gauge but it’s a start.

Also make sure you learn from your replay’s. What your doing in your head often looks different when you watch it back, especially spacing wise. The amount of times I’ve thought I played well only to watch something back and see various mistakes is pretty high.

I find that the best way to approach most matches is to be reactive rather than taking the game to the opponent. Making them make the mistake. If you watch most high level matches the amount of dancing around while nothing is happening is quite high.

Overall this game favours heavily defensive style with burst damage. It always comes back to patience IMO.

Sounds like pretty much every Rufus player ever in existence.

I’ve had discussions with a lot of Sim player who feel like the twins and Fei Long are the worse by far for him. Opinion ?

When I saw Snafoo play against Popi in Lapchi’s room and Popi managed to put Dhalsim in the corner, he began mashing his controller furiously doing rekkas, trading/beating Dhalsim’s normals. In a matter of like, 7 seconds he did around 80% damage on Dhalsim while he received around 30-35%. I was shocked lol

Personally I don’t think Fei’s THAT bad for Dhalsim. He’s bad but not dive kick bad. He walks fairly slow and his EX CW isn’t the greatest and can be telegraphed by the sim player.

I’ve mentioned it on the Fei boards a few times that generally the best way to beat sim is just throw shit at him til he dies. Going wild usually get’s them out of their comfort zone. Zoners generally play well when they can control and manipulate the match, up against some crazy bastard though you’ve got to play a whole different game.

But you forgot Fei’s focus attack… Dhalsim cannot really deal a lot with empty jump > Focus attack from Fei. Or just Focus attack at midscreen at all

That will all change in USF4 with the double hitting normal lol.

You’ll never get a jump on a good sim player, not with Fei Long since he can’t change his trajectory. Focus is good but sim players use a lot of lights combined with FB’s to stop that spam. They protect that range where Fei wants to sit. When you’re playing Sim your either full screen or in his face, there is no mid range game which is where Fei excels.

Super can reversal rekka and sim usually has Super. It’s def not a free match. Not like the other characters mentioned.

.

Remember we are on SRK

Been a while since I posted but seems like people are trying to walk up hill on their hands. When your character cannot win a match learn a backup character to beat that player or character.

The only joke here is yang’s active frames =(

Better yet just pick a top tier and only learn one character.

About bad matches. I think they can change, but it requires the losing character to have a new consistent strategy for playing the match.

The ways you deal with a bad match is you don’t let any opportunity slip away and you dont give your opponent anything for free. will you win most of the time vs strong opponents? no. but you will make them earn it and only masters of the chars that beat yours will be able to take you on.

Now if a match is 7-3 or worse, you are boned and unless you counterpick, expect to get rocked alot of the time.

It’s gotten to the point where if I fight a Cammy, Juri or Seth I Iegit dont even give a fuck about the outcome. shrug

Don’t worry u won’t have to worry bout Seth anymore, considering what we know bout Ultra.

Some people think Fei-Sim is even, some say it’s in Fei’s favour. But it’s not Sim’s worst match by any means. In my oppinion his worst matches are Abel/Makoto.

Some characters are just natural and even if you counterpick chances are your opponent has faced stronger players of your character and strill proceed to maul you

<Daigo> Hm, this Xian guy is strong, better counterpick Guile.
<Zhi> Too bad he spent the last week grinding the Guile matchup because he was tired of losing to Guile. Have fun.

Makoto HAS to be Sims worst match. One FADC and shes in there like ,“Hey bro, I’m going in raw cuz I know thats how you like it.”

I dont even know how Sim would attempt to survive past 20 seconds, let alone actually win the match.

Yun is worse for him. Divekick, Lunge punch, shoulder and every combo lead to a mix up.
Makoto dominate because of her amazing normal moves which lead to meaties and trade against limbs. OS Ex Hayate let her in for free.
