I wrote a comment on the youtube channel before checking here first… well I guess I’ll repeat it here just in case lol…
I get dominated in similar fashion by my Yun buddy all the time and from what I’ve learned out of that… basically I think you’re trying to use too many heavy pokes and it’s enabling him to get in alot. Try stand jabbing him out of dive kicks or using st.mp, c.mp, c.mk at the respective angles. Normally we want to punish people hard for jumping but for Yun he can just vary his timing and eventually screw you over if you pressed something with long startup and/or recovery so really the priority is actually to keep him off you at all costs rather than to hit him hard. I see you often crouch and start to do several c.mk in a row… this is actually a lot more dangerous than against other characters because he can easily dive kick onto the c.mk and you eat a combo.
Tough break anyway though, as if Yun isn’t annoying enough, it’s Kazunoko haha… but I’m jealous that you got to fight him

Deiminion in Grand Finals

1:10 wow… cr lp, cr lp, cr mp, FK, FADC, U2… this will pay off even more in 2012. Need to learn that FADC U2.
BTW, this chun isnt all that. Very weak with mixups.
I want to see how Dieminion does against bird_face1 on PSN
I’m guessing it’s because Hiro plays more Guile… great Guile play against Dieminion in that tourney.
He even landed 2 FK FADC U2 in that chun li match. Di3 can clearly perform under pressure, which I think puts him in front of other Guile players that crack up in the end.
against dieminion? or by dieminion
against. I thought it was pretty good on both sides lol… though Die might be trying a little too hard to land Guile High Kick

Just watched. This is such a boring match sorry. when certain players are playing to win at tourneys its usually a snooze boom fest, the majority of which is seen here. Nothing but booms, missed 1 frame links, whiffed GHKs, and guess jump ins. I think i’d rather see cpu vs cpu on hardest. Dieminion played much better in grand finals IMO
lol i didn’t think there was anything snooze about it. Some whiffed stuff here and there but Guile mirror can be really tense.

Im putting this here cause its the video thread but i hope all of you guys can atually take a look. Here’s the video of Dagger G against Justin Wong at EVO

3.43 - the combo used here… is there a more effective combo that could have been used given his meter? Pretend your links were flawless… you bazooka in to cr mp > SB distance, he could have FADC’d but would it have been worth it? To me, he could have used cr mp, instead of cr lp and it still would have all connected… had he done that i think it was well done… max damage with a knock down.
3.47 - The frame trap here is sick and similar to pressure im starting to do with cl st lk… its a lethal weapon bc it is 3 frame start up, not 4.** I have no idea how he was able to perform 2 far lk’s though, and then charge for sonic boom without having the bazooka come out.** That far lk MUST chain (not link) and if this true, this opens up new possibilities. I didnt even know this.
The far st lk is a 5 framer…
so the gap between the cl st lk (after block is 0 hit adavantage) and the startup for the far st lk… is 5 frames in which any move can come out. So clearly you cant do this move against 3 frame DP characters… so according to the math,** this is not a safe block string for characters whose reversals are 5 frames or faster **(unless the cl st lk and far st lk chain…)
maybe its Rufus specific pressure? props to Dagger G for holding it down with Guile at EVO
The bazooka knee combo done was acceptable. Damage isn’t always the most important thing. Positioning is equally important. If he was saving meter to insure better positioning after the combo, then the combo was acceptable. Saving meter for “safe” FK wakeup is acceptable too. He had Rufus in the corner which is a very favorable spot to leave your opponent as Guile. You don’t necessarily have to rush them down when they’re cornered, you can back off a bit. You even have the whole stage behind you to play with.
db+lp > db+lp > ub+lk > ub+lk > SB is how you get s.lk while still charging for SB
if you do mash s.lk, then hold ub while still mashing s.lk you can charge for SB the whole time, then press f+lp(or mp/hp to make it a little easier) and you’ll get a SB
also
if b+lk is the 2nd move of a chain, it will be his close/far s.lk instead of the bazooka knee
The gap between close s.lk and far s.lk is not 5f. You are forgetting that it’s a chain combo, which removes all recovery of the previous move.
