Been a long time Chunbee. Last time we played, I played your son in a ranked match on your account. LOL Is he still playing SF? He’s pretty good.
He actually stopped playing SF. He’s more into Ratchet and Clank than anything else. Which I am cool with. I don’t think I would wish for him to have the same addiction as his dad.
Add me again on PSN, I am hoping to get back to high level comp like last year. Considering the beatings I got and the stupid mistakes I made last night it looks like it might be along journey.
I’ve actually been offline for the past several months, and don’t plan to be online anytime soon (don’t ask). When I do tho, you can bet you’ll be the first I add to my FL. I always hate playing good Chun Lis, but I gotta learn that matchup somehow.
If playing SFIV has messed up your HDR game, some HDR players use SFIV-only characters like Gouken or Gen, so that they can still compete in HDR. IMO that’s a good idea, just a thought.
Gen is my SFIV main. Doesn’t mean I don’t get screwed up by no dashes, no quick recoveries, single button throws.
What I did stupid last night was get impatient and give up the zoning games I always used. Even after I had the lead I went for finishes as opposed to staying untouchable. That or I died screwing up a stored super input. I never used to do that. Sac super was a huge part of my game and I ate shit messing that up.
I dunno, we’ll see. If I can get any of my mojo back then maybe I’ll make a run at the tournies next year. But if I lose like I did last night then my old ass needs to stay retired.
I’m sure you’ll get your HDR game back in no time at all.
Thanks man. It was just a close match overall. Every match went the distance. All rounds were closely contested and most of it with the timer running out. Not a lot of ticks. And Hadou won by the slimmest of margins.
GG’s to you sir! Must agree with Blitz, that good chun’s are so hard to play against. I gotta keep my mistakes to a minimum or else I’ll lose it. I had no losses all the way up to finals and ended up losing all sets at the end So horrible on my part.
chunbelievable - play with the regulars and the NHC crew on a weekly basis… and you’ll definitely be on top in no time. That’s how I leveled up early this year. I got to learn a lot of things from the man himself… blitzfu.
Iron DD - saw what you said last night in the chat room… and it’s true, you level up when you play in tournaments, you start to see your mistakes and learn to overcome them. I think it’s healthy - skill wise for the PSN guys to hold these tournies. You become better and better.
numberVIIXIII - don’t worry about the finals last night. I just play, no matter how you set up the rules. Thanks for running the tournies… I know how stressful it can be as an organizer… I mean afterall, we saw you yelling in the chat room LOL  … now where are them videos of the finals mr. spectator who decided to try to kick my ass in the lobby room
Vestax… the NHC crew are the regs I only played for the longest time when the game came out. Blitz, Ego and I used to go at it a lot and Halfro and I used to play a bunch on and off line when I live in Colorado. I know a bunch of those guys pretty well, just need to get acclimated to the system again.
I’m going to third up on what is being said about Chun in this game. The two characters that I have the most trouble with, no matter what character I’m using are Chun and Claw. High level Chuns tend to have a great zoning game and can just control your space on the ground or in the air. Nightmare!
And thanks, Massif. I intend to play the guys here more often, especially now that I have a few of you on my FL. Previously I had only fought some of the guys on here occasionally on SB, but now I hope to get some good games in against the SRK crew.
Not only is it nice to play against guys who are high level and don’t mind helping you improve your game, but it’s also nice to play against folks who aren’t complete asshats and RQers.
Hey man, we played a good final. I actually thought you read my tactics accurately by the second set. I had to change it up. Great Boxer and Honda btw. And yes, where are the videos VIIXIIII? lol :wgrin:
Thanks man. I found the videos on his page: http://www.youtube.com/user/numberVIIXIII funny how he’s chatting while recording the videos lol … are we that boring 7-13?
i have no idea what came over ME on that 1 video lol. I thought the match was highly entertaining.
Damn… there was a tournament yesterday? I was playing for a few hours last night and didn’t even realize it.
