SSF2T: Guile Help

Cross up (short or Medium kick), sitting Jab x 2, then do motion for super summersault and press (Jab + short)

If you want to get a hang of it, goto training mode, and pick zangief as your dummy, and have him crouch. Then try other alternate scenarios.

wow. i think i love old Guile…
are there any differences with sonic boom speeds? i could swear old Guile’s jab booms are way too fast. the usual meaty games just don’t seem to work as well.

how does OLD Guile fight off Zangief? i can’t seem to keep him out with c.FK since it trades with Gief’s sweep at best, and you don’t want to trade with Gief’s sweep. it’s mostly that aspect that’s bothering me atm, this c.FK vs c.RK thing, and i can’t see how to get around it.

Yeah tough match. Either Guile has trouble against Gief.

You can’t use low forward much, from close Gief can SPD through it and from far he can trade in his favor with low rh.

You really have to try to keep Gief farther out than that. Throw a boom from far away and see what Gief does. Guile can use booms better than most fireball characters can use their projectiles against Gief, you just have to be far enough away. If Gief does a low rh to try to beat your low forward and whiffs you can throw a boom then, and either force him to block or hit him out of a clothesline.

hmm… i’ve had some success with straight up jumps to bait stuff out then booming upon landing or RKing on the way down. repeated j.fierce > fierce > boom works nicely too (after a far boom to shield).
