SSF2HD Remix: good games thread

:karate::nunchuck::nunchuck:

Dointhat right now sir. Get that old ggpo action going son!:woot:

Anybody play the #1 ranked player on PSN, TechnicalMonkey? I got him in a random friendly room yesterday. Damn sick Chun Li. He utterly and completely destroyed my Dee Jay, but had a harder time killing my Ken. Still got owned good though. I didn’t expect to win a round let alone a match, but I was able to beat him like 2 matches out of 8 or so. Not bad for a guy ranked #105. = ) But to be fair, it was a friendly, and I’m sure he would have been a lot tougher in a ranked match or a tourney.

Some of his strategies:

-lots of grabs, not necessarily tick throws, but those too, he uses Chun Li’s insane throw range and damage to perfection, anytime you’re close to him or wiff a move, you’re getting thrown, he’s good at the reversal throw but I’m unpredictable with my throws, so I was able to get a few Knee Bashes here and there, but overall, almost all of my tick throws were reversed…good stuff = )

-poke Strong punch into instant Lightning kicks at any range, anytime, almost always a 2 or 3 hit depending on distance, and you can’t hit Lightning legs back as easily as Hundred Hands and they’re just as hard to jump over/avoid, and he uses Chun’s high priority Strong poke to just fuck you up, just when you think he’s gonna Strong>tick throw, you get Lightning kicks, or think he’s gonna Strong>Lightning kick, you get tick throw, or a combo into sweep, or cr.Forward into fireball…just fucking insane

-SBK…why does Chun have so many different trajectories for the SBK? There’s the regular one with a rainbow arc, there’s the horizontal trajectory that skims close to the ground, the air SBK with rainbow arc, air SBK with horizontal trajectory AND an air SBK that simply goes straight down. WTF? Needless to say, he had all her trajectories down to perfection, would use them to get over my Hadokens and hit at the maximum distance so a counter attack was impossible, or screw me up with the low ground skimming one which is the trickiest to anticipate…good stuff!!

-stored super, I only saw him do this once, walk up>cr.Short>stored Super. I’m not a Chun expert, but anytime you store her super and do a standing or crouching kick, that’s supposed to activate the Super. I don’t how he he did that, could have been luck or lag, but he didn’t get it on me, I was spectating at the time, that poor bastard whoever he was. = )

-instant wake up head stomp after knock down to catch you crouching on wake up, this he didn’t get on me or any other player, but I could see him trying to…was probably off his game a little, otherwise that certainly would have got me.

Good games TechnicalMonkey. And good games to MLSwear too, great Dhalsim.

Your name isn’t registered any more sir.:confused:

ok I will get on right now.

Yeah, TechnicalMonkey is really one of the best Chun Li’s on the East Coast. I’ve played against him before in vanilla ST. Very good player. His brother’s Ryu is very good as well.

GG’s EvilHadou Sorry I had to leave.

I’m not even sure there’s another Chun Li player worth talking about from the East Coast in regards to ST. Between him and NKI, you would probably just have to flip a coin to figure out which one of them is the best ST Chun Li player in the USA.

GGs to DamagedLemon, nice Claw

ggs to ver314 (nice rog), and chachi.

GGs BDR and Luigi-Bo. The ruthless aggression is spreading…

GG’s man sorry bout the lag (kept losing my charge). My internet has been real bad today.:bluu:

my bad cachi. i so wasn’t done. i got too comfy (literally) i started sitting up right when my connection got lost:rofl:

Nah, the hop doesn’t go through fireballs. I don’t think Gief is better than Blanka. But, I wouldn’t sleep on him either.

Jeron Grayson plays Chun as well.

Good games Ephidel, effie1978.

Haven’t played in a while… missed stuff I didn’t want to miss but good games.

yeah very ggs nokato and that effie (:p) guy

Ya, I know, I used to live in NJ until a few months ago. I’ve played against Jeron a bunch of times over the years. Still though, I wouldn’t put his Chun on the same level as Chris Doyle or NKI. Not saying he’s bad at all, just not on that ā€œfreak of nature, weird stuff you didn’t know was even possibleā€ level with Chun like Chris and NKI.

Thanks Bustah. Good stuff to you to. I tried to add ya to get in some more good games with ya.

GGS to Blitzfu and co. I have learned a lot playing with you guys. I fear your Ken/DJ immensely

GGs to Onslaught35… I should have lost that last match. I thought you were going for the sacrifice throw win again, that’s why I went for the fierce/DP finish… the crap hud threw things off

luigi why you gotta be on my nuts so hard? :looney:

GGs to to you too brother, your Fei was making me scared I would miss those reversal Shoryus, Fei’s cr.Fierce>cr.Fierce>dizzy is freakin’ scary!!! = ) GGs to Haksakoun and Ikuzo07 too, that was one of the most competitive sessions I’ve had in a while. At times it felt to me like you could cut the tension with a knife. Ha ha good times. = )

GGs to NipulHerr too. After playing TechnicalMonkey’s Chun Li last night, and your crazy bitch Chun Li tonight, I’mma have Kikkoken nightmares fuck…no more Chun for a while. ha ha

Damn technicalmonkey is nice

Yes.
