I pretty much only play quick friendly. I don’t like having to wait in line to play. I mostly just play 5 match sets until I run into somebody who’s pretty good and play for as long as they’ll stay.
I think I get better playing the same person for several matches in a row, especially if it’s the same match. It gives me time to set back and think about how I should be approaching a match instead of worrying about being kicked off.
So i was pumped that i got an invite to play ald_one… and he then proceeded to decimate me. 25 times in a row!!! (to my credit i did win a bunch of rounds, but it seemed like as soon as i beat him in a round he turned his own difficulty up to 11.) His guile is nuts.
I was getting pissed earlier, playing some scrubby people and losing in annoying fashion (lag, bad play, dropped inputs, etc) but with ald I loved it. I learned a ton (and maybe, just MAYBE, i taught him a few things).

Who is this ald_one? I’m starting to get invites from this person. I decided to add him to my friend’s list for matches but seriously does he lurk here or what? It just seems people have been getting random invites from this guy.

I agree, this dude prolly just trolls the SRK forums. But he didn’t message me to join him. One of the SRK dudes I play with, jaywang, told me about him and said he was good. So naturally I wanted to beast him LOL.
His Guile is very good, but he’s not all that. It was pretty even after about 10 matches and my Ken and DeeJay showed him a thing or two. I’ve got him on my friends list now.
If this dude is one of us in disguise, it might be jaywang, as that’s how I first heard of him. Sorry jay.

Off topic, do you guys feel like everyone is busy increasing their ranking in scoreboard matches? Everytime I invite ppl, I rarely get anybody joining me for a friendly, even though I know they’re online. I play ranked as much as I can too, but if I ever get an invite, I join. Cuz after playing 32323423423 scrubs in ranked, I feel like my skills are deteriorating. I’d rather play good players in friendlies.
I dunno if they’re on SRK, but menikmati had a good Honda and Cammy! GG everyone I played tonight though.

Wasn’t that the room with 5 ppl and one of the dudes wasn’t playing with his Sagat, so whoever won would have to kill a defenseless Sagat? Damn, that was screwed, it went on for like 30 mins, and the Sagat dude never fought. I eventually got tired of it, but very funny though. = )
