I’m unavailable between Friday sun down and Saturday sun down.So hopefully I don’t get matched at that time.
I wanted to say that this is a great idea. And when I finally get my PS4 SF5 bundle, I’ll be sure to sign up!
I don’t know if this only makes sense in my head, but would it make sense to set it up kind of like baseball? So then you can have it split up into two divisions (NA/EUish?). Then connections will hopefully be better, but then you could also have people play guys they are used to for the majority of the season, but occasionally face guys from the other division so that’s a little more hype. And you could even do something like top 5 point totals for each quarter competes in a 5v5 team tourney for conference bragging rights. That might be too complicated though haha. But it would be kind of cool if there were more big events if you only play one set a week (unless I misread that).
Your match time is up to you and your opponent to decide. There will be a discord room where you will let a mod know your scheduled time as well as any problems that may arise after said time passes.
Got it, well it will be better if my opponents forfeit because they would just get bodied.

I’ve actually thought about this a bit recently. At last count we were close to 4-1 US to the rest of the world (haven’t counted regions in a while though) so it would need to be closer to 4 divisions to be even using the number of European players as the baseline. I’m going to end sign ups about a week before the game drops so as there will be time to assign numbers used for the matchmaking system I’m using. Seperate division could actually stream line that process, 4 pots instead of 1 big pot. I honestly only expected like 20 people to be interested at the start, with more being drawn in later on down the road. We exceeded that already, we will see how many stick around though.
You are correct, one set a week is currently the plan. I want to do more, but honestly I want to see how successful we are at actually getting together and playing are matches. See the first season or 2 as dry runs. If everyone is pretty good about getting matches in and results and match ids in before the deadline (let’s say around 80% success rate) I would love to add more sets to the week.
I really like some type of team battle to represent each division at the end of a season though, that’s a really good idea. It would actually serve as a better admin tool as well, I’ve had a few people inbox me wanting to help, I could just have them moderate each division instead of one giant pot. Let me run the numbers and put this on paper and see if it still makes sense.
As of now a 4 division split would look like:
US south/Brazil= 7
US east= 14
US central/west=7
Europe=8
The east could be split into 2 division for a damn near even split. I actually really like this set up.
Only “inter league” weeks will have cross over match ups.
Only top seeded players in each division get into tournament (everyone gets in if we are under 64 players).
All division would have a moderator, which would help ease the burden on the set up and admin side.
Will update first post with new set up, please new sign ups place your state as well if you are in the US to be better matched up in your region.
I won’t play, and I don’t think a lot of people from US West wouldn’t, if we have to play a Brazilian. I’d rather play someone from asia or europe, the connection would be better.

I added Brazil to the south which essentially is just Florida and Atlanta because I had a decent experience in the beta. I know that won’t be all the time, so Hopefully South America can get enough players for their own division.

Last day to sign up for the first season will be the 6th. First season kicks off the 22nd. Remember the first season will be used more of as a test run and to gauge how well the systems in place work. It’ll also be a nice way to see who will stick around longer then a week or 2. Don’t worry about your unfamiliarity with the game.
Any rules regarding streaming and such? I don’t have a good enough connection to attempt it, but I wouldn’t mind seeing some SRK League streams so I can catch the US portion. I think DevilJin and some other guys have Twitch channels they use every now and again.
Streaming will kind of depend on if CFN allows spectators for their matches. If so I don’t see why we couldn’t stream. I am going to create an archive for all the matches those wanted up loaded and throw them on our own YouTube channel.
Let’s get this shit streamed.
Hope we get a spectator mode.

Im tempted to give this a go. Im not so good at fighting games, but if any skill level is allowed, it gives me a reason to play regular and hopefully improve.
