SRK's Random Fighting Game Trivia Thread

Hibiki, Last Blade 2.

Correcto, here is a cookie for you

perhaps it was a little easy :stuck_out_tongue:

Here’s one: There is a game that has roman canceling, supers, parrying, double jumps, burst, chain combos, and air combos. However, this game is missing two mechanics that would seem normal in this kind of game. What is the game, and what are the mechanics?

Got a new one:

Name 3 characters, and the games they are from, that have Counter Super Moves that only activate in specific situations other than “on hit”. (I can name 3 off the top of my head. It might be a little obscure.)

dunno, maybe Wonderful World, havent it played so much, but i think that it doesnt have perfect defense, but hey i could be wrong

Garnet’s Mimic Terror, Viren’s Dionea Trap & Kaya’s Soujin from The Rumble Fish come to my mind

Not quite what I was thinking, but how do those moves work? They probably qualify anyway. (Also, been trying to find a way to play Rumble Fish since about 20 minutes ago. I am intrigued by this game.)

Garnet’s Mimic Terror can only be performed upon being knocked down; Garnet grabs
the opponent with her feet and then throws them.

Viren’s Dionea Trap must be performed while being hit; it causes Viren to attack
with a stungun.

Kaya’s Soujin can only be performed while being hit; it has a lot of invincibility
time so you can interrupt opponent’s combos quite easily

as for playing the rumble fish, the best one is TRF2, but it was never released on console, the only hope is via emulation, the rom is suposedly dumped, but not avaible on the web yet

Garnet will work, Viren and Kaya do not.

[EDIT: Unless you mean only during hitstun, then in that case, they do fit the criteria.]
Since Garnet wasn’t one of the 3 I thought of at first, I can tell you one, though it’s obscure:

Bazett Fraga McRemitz In Fate/Unlimited Codes had a super that could either be executed normally, or during the startup cinematic of another characters Super Move. If the latter happens, she automatically cancels their super, and does roughly 50%, I think. The only person this didn’t work on was Lancer during either his Ground Super or is Air Super, since storywise, they work using somewhat similar principles, so they trade, with a special animation, and they both take 50% damage. It’s a little bit of a stretch.

Also, yeah I heard about TRF2 being dumped, but no word on any circulation. If I had that kind of money, I’d probably just buy an Atomiswave set and the cart of it.

There’s actually an additional condition for Bazett’s super; you have to have claimed the Holy Grail as well during that round.

In Guilty Gear, Anji has several guard point moves, including a super, that I guess could be considered a counter? They have to attack you while you’re attacking as well and hit the guard point, then you can go into a number of different moves including a super.

yeah, during hitstun

Ah yeah, because the Counter version of Answerer was her EX Super. Nice catch. I haven’t played it lately, but I more often then not picked Bazett for that reason. XD

Man, I totally forgot about Anji.

A winner is you.

Sakura says to Abel “I have a dog too”. Is that it?

I can’t remember, what fighting game had as its preround announcer saying “No Escape, Fight!”?

nevermind google is my friend was NGBC or SvC Chaos.
