SRK's Random Fighting Game Trivia Thread

Ken, and brother-in-law.

Xmen COTA

what does the “M” in “M Bison” stand for, according to the guy that started the last SF trivia thread? hint: he thought SF the movie was canon.

Lmao I remember that thread, wasn’t the answer Michael?

Samurai Showdown and X-Men: COTA are both wrong (for first 2d fighting game with ‘super’ jumps/tall backrounds).

Anyone else wanna guess?

Wasn’t it Savage Reign?

Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden ?

I remember that too…it wasn’t Michael…it wasn’t even a name. It was an adjective like Mighty or Mad…actually I think it was “Mad”.

Mike Bison

“…that mad Bison…”

Sagatryu you are almost correct. (I’m assuming you mean that dragon ball game with the ‘robot’ arcade cabinet). That came out around the same time as the one I’m talking about (a little later).

The answer is Martial Champion (by Konami).
The characters were so big that they put the lifebars on the bottom of the screen so that they could jump way up high.

A digitized (mk graphical style) fighter had huge characters with screen-elevating jumps too. The game was “Survival arts”…(thanks DreamTR for refreshing my memory on the games name)

It’s Mike Bison. Bison in Japan is Vega, Balrog in Japan is M (Mike) Bison like Mike Tyson the US Boxer.

I remember, back when SF2 came out in Europe, everyone called him Mister Bison…lol

lol i think i heard ppl say that befor to back in the days

OK, here’s one, what score did Daigo get for his full parry?

Vega doesn’t throw roses at women in CvS2.

He takes off his mask and bows in his special intros with women in CvS2.

Against fellow narcissists (himself, Kyosuke, Benimaru, and M. Bison) he throws a rose as a sign of respect.

Anyway, the last time we had a trivia topic, I posted most of these same questions but I want to see who can get them right again:

  1. Name at least 5 fighters who EAT something in their intro pose, winpose, or during the match itself.

  2. Name at least 5 fighters who DRINK something in their intro pose, winpose, or during the match itself.

  3. Name at least 4 fighters who SMOKE something in their intro pose, winpose, or during the match itself.

  4. Name at least 4 fighters who STRIP off their jacket, top, or shirt in their WINPOSE.

  5. Name at least 5 fighters who play some kind of musical instrument in their intro pose, winpose, or during the match itself.

  6. Name at least 5 fighters who have a move that costs them their own health (moves like Dudley’s Cross Counter, which require you to be hit first DON’T COUNT)

  7. Name at least 7 fighters who can heal themselves with either a special or super move (stuff like the Warzard characters levelling up DOESN’T count)

  8. Name at least 7 fighters who either kiss or blow a kiss in their intro, winpose, or during the match.

  9. Name at least 4 fighters who throw a rose at their opponent

  10. Name at least 4 fighters who say IN ENGLISH, EITHER “Go to hell!” or “Go to heaven!” (yeah, those exact words, so the GG announcer doesn’t count).

Not quite brothers-in-law. Their wives are sisters only. Udon’s SF #5 has it correct.

Kabuki Klash got it right, when referring to Bison the dictator it’s Mister Bison.

In Alpha 3, he was “Master Bison” not “Mister Bison”.

Technically, my wife’s sister’s husband WOULD be my brother-in-law.

Nakoruru (NGBC, CvS2. etc.)
Elena (3S)
Vampire Sion (MBAC)
Athena (KOF: MI2)
Shiki (NGBC)
V Akiha (MBAC)

…I seem to be at a loss for a 7th one.

Really?

I can think of AT LEAST 10 off the top of my head, not even including those Melty Crap…I mean, Melty Blood characters since I’ve never played it (I’ll take your word that they have healing moves).
