2nd place definitely had me
1st place was done very well. The animations match so nicely to the guitars.
I entered the Shinkuu Dan, Evil Monkey, and Red/yellow still AVs.

The Shinkuu Dan was some serious shit, great work.
yeah i really liked the shinkuu dan oneâŚthat shit was fucking dope!
Hey, I have a reputation to keep.
Even if I donât best everyone in quality, I can best them in volume, right? I actually made 7 avatars for this competition. Those were just the best 3 I could come up with. This mario one was going to be entered as well.
âŚseriously.
Alright, I won!
Thanks for choosing my avatar shinryukev, and thanks to all those that thought it was cool too.
 Great stuffâŚâEVERY-BAH-DEE!â
Wow, you made that one Sas?
Where you been hiding your skills?
âŚseriously.
woah u made guitar fighter? omg thatâs some serious skills man. WOW most impressive.
Good shit to you guys, especially the 1st place winner that was dope.
@ quiche: LoL. Yeah, I know. I make a lot of hit/miss avatars. Sometimes Iâm on the ball, MOST of the time, I fall off the ball. :wasted:
But if you reinstate the ABCâs, Iâll be sure to bust out some good stuff! Thereâs alot of AV makers nowadays.
[edit: By the time I posted this, 3 more posts showed up! LoL. Damn revisioning.]
Thanks everyone for the compliments. :china:
Naw. There are hardly any av makers here anymore.
Look, $250 in prizes was offered, and only 9 entries came in, and 3 of them were me. So thatâs 7 people, tops. For $250. You think Iâm gonna get the 25+ entries I used to get for ABCs when all I have to offer is a couple months of prem?
âŚseriously.
u forget quiche that a lot of the entries were cause of stillsâŚexcept for one abc, there were very few animated ones.
lots of still makers still here, i just think they got discouraged cause animated ones seem more pleasing to votes.
Before, there used to be a lot of people for contests, and there werenât even any prizes.
No matter how hard I try, I can never get how to make animations SRK-sized. I am dehsux at GIF compression. If I did, I definitely wouldâve entered.
Grats to you Sas. Very nicely made!
@ quiche: Damn, your right. Pricey rewards were offered and only a handful of people submitted entries [for FREE PRIZES]. I was around during the ABCâs [though I only entered once or twice I think]. It was amazing to see what people could come up with and fit in a Prem size avatar. Your quote on the previous page is true though. For every 1 new av maker you get, you lose 2.
[revision is the death of me]
holy cow, sas, GREAT JOB. that is definitely your best work to date.
quiche and sunoco: those were great as well. had me rolling with laughter.
too bad i canât rep all of you. have to go spread some before i can.
[edit]
Vegett0 is an up and comer. heâs going to be a pro. (weâve said this about Sas, and heâs a pro now.)
damn i just realized there were only 4 entrants. 3 by quiche, 3 by vegett0, 2 by me, 1 by sas.
damn the prizes were great tooâŚthanks for doing this shinryukev!
Someone tell me how to make animated avatars a reasonable size x_X whatâs the program you guys are using? Any PMs regarding this would be greatly appreciated!
I use ImageReady. It comes with photoshop (or it did come with Photoshop CS. Now I think they may have merged it to be a part of photoshop. Anyone with CS3 that can confirm this?)
âŚseriously.
Photoshop CS3 does have ImageReady merged with it. Although, it still canât open GIFs the same way ImageReady did. As a result, I still use ImageReady to open up sprites then save them as PSDs for use in Photoshop CS3. Other than that, I use Photoshop for everything else.
WTF they merged it for CS3???
You have any idea how easy that wouldve been on me for the types of animated stuff I used to make? That would have literally cut the time it took to make something(no matter how long or short) in half.
Well Iâm just saying as far as animations go, cause I always went through Photoshop before Image Ready when making something that animates.
I dont even really like Image Ready anyhow. As a matter of fact it shouldve just stayed on itâs own unmerged cause now CS3 probably wastes a ton of resources.
And Stills are all that matter to me.
