if its just my hands problem then i guess theres nothing any1 can do but is there a certain way i should be holding the controller or something?

Hey…I have a local tourney this weekend. Am looking for some practice and training before it. Add me if you are interested. Am from the UK and play Ryu.

Well in regards to how you physically handle putting in your inputs its simply a matter of trial and error. When I was first learning, and only using a standard xbox pad, I had the same problems. Experiment with different button configurations too. Not only should you practice doing proper inputs with proper timing, but you also need to discover what configuration suits your hands. Don’t be fooled into feeling that you have to use a certain button config or hold your controller a certain way. There is no standard in regards to those things.

Before you start seeing wins, you have to be able to do all your moves comfortably. I can speak to that fact because my button set-up is rather awkward at a glance. But I can combo, hit confirm and FADC as good as, if not better than, any stick user can.

Also one thing I remember when using my xbox 360 pad, the Analog stick is a secret beast. Try it out if you don’t already use it. You’ll be surprised. It doesn’t take long to adjust and once you discover the secret beast that it really is, hey…it might do something for you. It did for me.

I’ll end it here before I go all wordy again…GG.

when is the next tourney starting?

Saturday.

Saturday? what happened to sundays?

its been a while… do I just show up at the sf chat channel or do I need to sign up somewhere?

really if your serious about this game you need to get an arcade stick or a sf fight pad. I mean Iv seen some decent players with a reg 360 controller but I would have to say they probably work twice as hard as someone who has one of the above.

i feel you on that i’ve tried the sf fightpad and for me the dpad is waay to big i;ve tried just goin with the analog stick and that doesnt do me any good (thats what discouraged me from getting a arcade stick) and the spacing between up down left right on the ps3 controller made charge characters a bit hard for me to use so far its been the 360 controller thats worked best for me and that has its own set of troubles but i will be experimenting with other controllers if any1 has a arcade stick in working order they dont mind donating that would be great lol

Check acouple pages back. I probably mistaken it. Then I can’t make it.

you can build your own for really cheap prob like 30 or 40 bucks if have an old controller that you dont use, you can take it about and atttach aracade buttons and a joystick with a wooden box. that shit is legit iv seen it a couple of times some peoplle go all out… you can check out how to do it all in tech talk in the forums. Others just save some money and get a SE or a TE stick. even though it feels wierd at first your hand can move alot faster than your thumb

Price of a your own built stick- Est. 70 dollars including your time working on it.

well any recomendation on what type of stick i should get i dont really see myself making one and price isnt to much of an obstacle as long as it stays under $200 like differences in buttons and sticks (ball or rod no homo) reliability such n such or if you guys know a great controller website that would be great to

SFIV TE stick hands down. or thE MVC2 TE stick.

I really need help…Im starting to learn ryu again from scratch since im so scrubby with him…can someone help me on XBL?? like a 1-on-1 tutorial session??

Strife, a add is always welcome if you need any practice.

I got an SF4 TE stick and modified it, i bought an octogon gate for the joystick $5 over the internet and took out the two left most buttons so I only have six buttons that are all basically parallel so my hands dont get lost. And I love that shit, execution has improved 10 fold since I did that.
I think the website is modchipman.com that I got it from took like 5 days after i ordered the part.

oh yeah and I dont know if you have a Frys electronic where you live but i heard they have TE sticks on sale for $100 right now

Bump!
