Allen played viscant on day 2. I played yeb on day 1. It’s kind of discouraging to run into yeb as my second or third round in EVERY tournament I go to.
He didn’t sign my stick yesterday. D; He said he will when he makes a Yeb signature.
lol I would have died playing viscant. He’s another local guy, but I can’t do anything to a Zangief. I have to play super defensive, just not my style. I’d rather play my Dhalsim against a gief, and that’s not fun either haha.
If anyone finds a recording of Me vs Yeb, let me know! I really want to see what I did to win XD
Newtybar - Maybe in 3 weeks or so I’ll join you at wherever yo go… 2 hour drive to play against gootecks etc?! heck yes!
I don’t think its possible for me to stop playing this game for a day let alone a week. I definitely noticed your improvement in teching throws, i am going to have to mixup my throws better, I noticed that you were walking up and throwing alot, i think that you shouldnt abuse the walk up throw because it is very risky and can lead to a big damage combo. Another thing that i noticed you were doing that is a bad habit i think is you woke up ultra’d a few times and i knew they were coming so i got a easy round win or a pretty big combo. you did a few wake up flash kicks but that wasn’t as bad as the ultras because you did the flash kicks randomnly which i was hit with. Also with the wake up ultra you did a couple in really obvious situations like at the end of the round where we both had a little bit of health left. I dont know if you were trying to chip me for the win or not though. So just be wary of that.
In regards to the c.lp, c.mp link. I think that i can just mash out a dp but i do not know if there is an option select for that specific situation. i really like the way you use the overhead and guiles step kick. i was looking for the step kick to FA but you used it well and i couldnt FA it properly.
I am really poor at using the FA effectively and have been trying to implement it into my game. I have been trying to use it as an AA. I think the key to an effective use of an FA is to know the timing of it so that when for example a c.mk hits you land your FA before the c.mk can be cancelled into a hadouken. That is how guys like luken27 and eyelovesf4 use it against me and its really effective.
Once again really good games and next week we can see how far we have progressed.
I DO abuse the walk up throw, lol. I didn’t notice.
That particular ultra was for chip win, but I do throw them out hoping too much. Good example of the FA, thanks!
Hey guys! My XBOX 360 gamertag is APLHA KAZUYA as you can see. I can’t have mirc cause I’ve got a Mac, so if some one whats to play against a Ryu just add me to your friend list, I don’t know who to add cause I can’t talk in a shat room with anybody…
I remember fighting you in championship mode just a few days ago and you did use the walk up throws a little too much haha. It was a really good game though.
Don’t try to do what they do cause you don’t know what they are doing but just notice how they space. Rarely will you see a player just stand in one place for more than 4-5 seconds. Build meter, close in, or turtle is how I think in a sense.
I didn’t sign up for this but I played against someone who did, Juicy Mackin.
Throwdown462 (14) - Juicy Mackin (1)
I could tell his main was Akuma but he also played Ryu, Ken, and Sagat. One thing I will say is that your Akuma offense is good bro. You were able to zone me and mix me up a couple of times. Your Raging Demon set ups were nice, but don’t try to exploit every set up, keep the opponent guessing! One thing though, your block strings with these characters were a little sloppy so I wasn’t really pressured as I should have been.
Your defense needs a little work…you were pretty careless sometimes. Akuma’s teleport is gdlk! You should use it more instead of back dashing sometimes (I think someone else mentioned that too). You threw A LOT of random uppercuts on your wake up. I think you anticipated too much rather than act on reaction. There’s a nice write up that ThelotheGreat wrote in the HDR forum about anticipation and reaction. Also, I think you may have been trying to interrupt my block strings which let to free combos for me so unless you’re positive you can punish me, I’d probably suggest blocking until you know it’s safe or teleport out of there. One more thing, be careful using the Focus Attack. I was able to punish a lot of those too.
Anyway, GGs Juicy, hope to get more sessions in with ya.
gg from what i could gather. your block strings should have been tighter but because of lag they couldnt. i could see you have nasty combo’s, and block strings. towards the beggining i lost badly but then i sort of adapted and learned how to adapt to you. i won several, and then you broke the streak beat me, and figured me out towards the end of the session. the one thing i can tell you is dont jump in that much, i punished you badly for it, but i could have done much more, but because of lag couldnt air throw you reliably. and work on your footsies a bit more. i noticed you started playing that game toward the end of the session because jumping in was getting harder and i was completely avoiding your attacks with back dash. but keep it up though your game is good and can always get better.
Yeah I know now that I am not supposed to be jumping at Vega quite that much. His reach suprised me really, and it was damn near impossible to block those long reaching normals on reaction with that lag. That it sort of why I was scared to play footsies. I couldn’t walk forward and quickly block reliably. I was missing a lot of combos, and I don’t blame it on that lag as I am still trying to be consistent with them. Still tho, it’s a shame to wonder if I am really missing them or if lag is playing that big of a factor. This is why I called quits early on. It was eating at me.
Your Vega surprised me. I don’t play against good Vegas. The few I ran into in random matches have been too free. I truly believe today was the first time I have seen his super honestly. I had no idea how to react to it. I mostly see Vega players use ultra out of desperation… yeah that bad. I really can’t offer you much critique because I don’t play Vega and yours has easily been the best I’ve played. Let me start learning to fight him (without lag, I hope) and develop some counters. Then you can do the same, and repeat. Everyone’s happy
vs EyeLoveSF4
he served me another beat down.
can’t think of any weaknesses that he had.
excellent pressure by constantly using crossovers.
consistent combos and aa.
possibly add footsies to your game?
This was awhile ago but one thing i do remember is too many flash kicks. If you’re going to throw them out that much learn to focus cancel them. You hit me with alot of ultras. I rarely get to see guiles ultra tht much.
I think we should start P.M.-ing ppl there feedback. this thread has gotten hella long.
Alright, Work on your Anti Air because i felt absolutely jump happy against you since you almost never SRK’d me or C. Hp me out of it. Thats why my combos was consistently hitting you. Block the String ( I’m just guessing cause it felt like you were trying to jab my string ) instead of trying to jab out of it cause you took a lot of free hits from my C. lp. I would say get ready to Tech my throws, After blocking a block string get ready for throws cause you pretty much didn’t tech once (At least i don’t remember seeing it).
Work on your BnB combos, I’m not sure but you would just do C. Lp x2, C. Mk, Hado which is good but you can do much more than that with other normals. I don’t know much but imo when you do C. Lp, C. Mp or C. Lp, C.Hp. By mixing these back and forth, it would cause confusion to the opponents IMO. I don’t know why exactly but thats what i think. Thats why you saw me use different ones in my block strings but maybe it doesn’t work that way.
It seems like you were choking due to the pressure so keep your patience and find that opening. If your getting too much pressure, Take it away from me by Knocking me down and run away or start pressuring me on my wake up. From what i saw you would cross me up every time you knocked me down so all i had to do was dash forward and your pressure would be no more. So work on mixing up the cross up and non cross up. Your Hados was almost predictable where i would just jump over, so i would suggest you to get used to the Zones for Safe fireballs and what not. Fake a fireball when you feel like you got the opponent psyched out cause some opponents ( Like me ) would react and jump in and you would get a free SRK, Fadc, Ultra.
Good games all in all, Hope to vs you some more when you feel that you are ready to play me again.
vs LaserRooney
with 20 losses straight I think I’ve finally figured out how to block.
good combos. good cross ups and corner pressure.
wish I could post more feedback, but my vocab and knowledge of techinques are limited atm.
thx for the feedback, your rog was pretty solid far as i could tell, still not sure with this matchup.Only thing i could add is that i got a cpl mixups as if you were waiting for a jump kick. maybe jab out of kd when im on you.
i think i got more out of this fight then you, you hand no real probs with my guy. =D thanks again for the tips, ill try to give you a better fight next time
Phatal PHD - Practice those links you missed about every one, Not sure if it was the lag online but looked like you were just missing them constantly. When he Whiffs a Fierce punch SRK i think you should of FA, Ultra for more damage since your links weren’t working out for ya. You didn’t use EX devil’s reverse at all maybe throw some of them into your game. Cross over with the MK instead of FP.
Sole Assasin - Watch those sweeps, thats all i could think of for now cause i was really only paying attention to Bison.
