SRK Training Team (XBL)

Well that Tourney was really fun. Good games everybody.

VS.Killakelly

GG’s bro your gouken is very very very good the first FT3 we had were pretty close except for the 2nd match where i got raped  then when i had to face you again i tried to play the same way in the first 2 matches and it was a quick 2-0 for you and i literally had to buckle down come up up with something quick and that was to put more pressure on you and it paid off i still didn’t wanna get to over aggersive because of gouken’s counters and that shit hurts  only thing i seen u do honestly wrong and u said it yourself you were jump happy that day but we gotta get some more games in they were fun

WkWong

Good fucking matches I kinda took a different approach this time around and tried to to jump to much i still jumped and got away with stuff but it was still really good matches especially the 2nd game where we both had like little to no health left and i’m not even gonna lie i said i to myself the next move he does i’m gonna ultra luckily it was a cr. mk but gg’s shit was fun hit me up if you just wanna get some games in:tup:

Vs.DaMoney21

GG’s man you had me kinda on edge because i hate akuma it’s just a very annoying matchup for chun li i used to play akuma when the game released and up until like 4 months ago but i can help u with him if you like work on his footsie game because he has a good one same with ryu i really didn’t see you teleport much and that’s akuma get out of trouble move but like i said if you want then i can help you.

Vs.RyanRaw

Nice playing with you if you wanna play rog learn his bread and butter combo’s and his footsie game cr jab is ur friend if you don’t already know along with is cr. rh i’m not good with balrog or ryu but i still don’t mind helping you with them but i’m sure it’s a bunch of ryu’s in the training thread that are willing to help you out.

Vs. Solerion

Good shit man those matches were epic as hell especially the last one viper is a hard match up for chun and don’t have much viper practice but i tried my best learned something shit was good need to get some casuals in with you but good tourney none the less and i did better then tyrone :lovin: lol

anyone up for some matches hit me up. I been playing with my new arcade stick since the 1st of sept and its going ok but hit me up tonight…I need all the practice I can get!!!

vs. EyeLoveSF4
You do a great job of mixing up your normals which left me clueless on what to, and that’s when I had an opening.

One thing I’ve noticed is that you tend to use FAs a little too much, but because I tended to Tostada, this was a good counter until I would Fajita you.

Another thing I would be careful about is Hadouken spamming. It worked on me since I was clueless the rest of the match, but if it’s stopped, it can end fast.

Other than that, you have a great grasp on Ryu. I just wish you would swap to another character sometimes.

BTW, my Viper is still new, and I just need recommendations for Chun period.

vs Solerion

goooood Viper. Really need to learn that matchup better. She tends to give me alot of trouble regardless of my approach (aggressive or more patient)…Your mistakes? Not many really, i noticed you would do n. jumps alot, and if i played a more versatile player or if i’d been more sharp with Ken, i could’ve punished ita lot more.

You could probably tech throw more, and also focus attack more. A few times you also could’ve linked your ultra to a combo but didn’t, and i was wondering if you would. Great Viper, keep it up. i need to do some normal sparrin’ wit you

vsDamoney21

Good games, you need to play more run-away with Akuma, imo. It’s not the best strategy all the time, but i have a feeling that it may have probably been the best approach against me. I dont recall our fight too much though.

vsTyronneKupples
Lag Lag Lag. :nunchuck: Kicked my ass, wish there was none, i think I would’ve bested you. Each fight went basically down to the wire, and it was fun. Sagat is no easy fight for me, but i don’t feel you played him to his best of his abilities.
You didn’t zone well with Tiger Shots, you didn’t keep me at bay with s. HK. You were way too TU happy, and your Tiger Knees were well-timed, but some you didn’t get back on block with. Good timing with the Focus Attacks, i caught on, but damn lag would screw me up at times. I think that’s what i mostly fell for. It was a good mix up to your game. Add more tick throws to your Sagat, and i’m sure the lack of tech throws was due to lag.

I wanna face your Bison though as that’s your bnb

Hey if you guys are still up for matches add me to this list. I am getting back into SF4 pretty hardcore at the moment. Usually on 8pm + monday thru fridays eastern time zone.

Vs Kuma0so

El Fuerte

Your El Fuerte is pretty nice, I was liking those Mix up from Body Splash but it was sort of going into a pattern which i think i caught onto. You never once used El Fuerte’s F.RH, Tortilla throw ( not sure why ) but you would do a slide instead after hitting me with a F. RH, maybe you messed up so i don’t know. Those Ultras were nice, Caught me every time because i wasn’t being careful. You FA a lot which is pretty risky so you took some hado full screen from FA and missing the Cancel or bad timing. Wait for it to almost hit you then do your FA so you don’t have to hold onto FA level 3 and miss the cancel. Work on your wake up game it seems to me like your always trying to grab when you wake up so i took advantage on it by neutral jumping or C. Mk, SRK. Other than this i’m not sure what else to say.

Chun Li

You played her like 3-4 games with her only so i can’t expect much to give you but i’ll try my best.

Work on your executions since you missed on some combos half the time with the LLKs. Your pokes were alright but through out the 20+ games we played you were either / always open from not blocking low for some reason you would block high most of the time. Chun Li’s Overhead flip kick is quite dangerous if you time it wrong cause its one of the easiest cross over to Reversal SRK as you saw what happened. It’s a good idea to get your Ultra up as fast as you can so i would be more careful with my hados but i saw what you were doing so i went on to defensive and just built up my Super. Mind games came into play and you decided to go into an offensive game play with chun. You walked into hado trying to walk up and poke so be careful with Ryu’s Hado. This is all i can point out for now, Maybe we’ll have to play more games with your Chun li if you want more feedback.

C. Viper

Well your Viper probably needs more practice imho. I know she’s a hard character to play so it’s going to take you some time to get her BnBs down. Like i said earlier, Watch those FA’s you use it too much so i would probably recommend on using it less with all your characters because your going to get an Ultra meter anyways instead of FA’ing and then getting hit by a simple c.lk that takes more HP then it should. Didn’t see you do any Seismo, HJ, BK so work on that in the training room until you get it down because its a scary combo for anyone. Random Thunder Knuckles also cost you some chunk of Life you had by you whiffing it or tried to time it to go under my hado which worked on some but its a risk move when you can just jump over Burning kick for meter if thats what your going for. You didn’t try or at least i didnt any cross over with her J. RH, BK which messes up a lot of peoples mind if done correctly.

That Ultra you got on me was quite random but i could of dodged it ( Tried to Backdash thinking i wouldn’t get hit by it ). So thanks for showing me that Back dashing her ultra is a bad idea and just block low. Anyways this is all i can think of for now.

Good Games to you and your 3 Characters. Just throwing this out there just in case your wondering. El Fuerte is your strongest character, C. Viper would be next, and then Chun Li.

If you were talking to me on your mic, I didn’t hear you at all cause i don’t have the sound on for Mic.

Since Feb 18th =D

I just realized this thread is under Ryu subforum. I don’t main Ryu, in fact, my shotos arent too good. I’m still up for competition tho!

If i recall correctly i only FA’d a lot against your El Fuerte since your pattern started to show. What would happen was you would only Fajita when you get a knockdown. So there was no pressure for me to stop using FA. You did catch me offguard with a mix up from Fajita to Tostada but your pattern went back into play.

When i spammed hado, You were mostly across the screen trying to FA them and taking them which costs you quite some Life especially when you FA’d like 4 hado’s and then mistime a jump. So if i don’t feel any pressure, theres no point in stopping hado coming your way since i have enough time to SRK your Wall jump.
When you were mid range you would try to bait me so i took that into play and used my hado to stop you from just running back and forth which maybe forced you to play with your Air to Ground games, thats why i used so much hados. You can’t expect me to just watch you run back and forth and wait for a Habanero Dash mix up. If you could stop my Hado’s then the whole strategy would change but you have to pressure your opponent to stop doing what you want them to stop doing.

I don’t swap characters when i play because i want to find everything i can about Ryu on all match ups so i’m sorry, you couldn’t play against anyone else but Ryu. For me I take this Training seriously, I only want to play against my opponents Main but since you switched i didn’t mind. Now if i wasn’t playing this to train, Yes i would switch characters. GGs anyhow.

Sorry but i posted on C. Viper before i saw your post.

vs Steinmania

At the tourney, the score for the final was 3-0, steins favor. For the grand final, the score was 5-1, steins favor.

Cammy
Man, it was a while since i had faced a Cammy but i didnt know it would be the tourney. To tell you the truth, I really dont know the match up AT ALL(when we started that is). I started using viper about 3 weeks ago and am still oblivious to alot of match ups. But after our final we sparred a bit and he beat me 9-2. I didn’t stand a chance. But i did manage to learn the match up just a bit but not enough to win.
Now for feedback:
You didn’t mess up too much but you did those wake up cannon spikes a handful of times.

Your execution was really good. You never messed up during those cannon strike combos, but you did screw up a few times during those combos that required strict timing.
Thats pretty much it. Im Kinda bummed that i lost the tourney but i did try my best and it was fun. Hope we can spar again!

I’d be happy to spar again. You got second place btw. THAT’S NOT BAD AT ALL!

I don’t know what happened, but we had a lot of random lag spikes during our matches. I think that’s what happened to my links… I practice those an hour a day… :-/

Seriously, most of the time I ACTUALLY thought you were going to flame kick. On wakeup … yeah I’m a scrub. But when you were doing blockstrings, I really thought you were gonna flame kick, I did the cspike command once, flew out, got punished :frowning:

- here’s me playing Combofiend back in August. This may teach you a bit in the Viper vs Cammy matchup. I got destroyed here.

Solerion your one of the best Vipers I’ve played against in a long time. You had my Ryu reeling pretty bad, and I wish I stuck with my Balrog which was the only time I won a set between us. I hope I can play you again soon after I practice at this game more. I realized how rusty BlazBlue, and MvC2 made me at SF4.

Hahaha didn’t you just play me that morning? Unless you are calling me irrelevant…haha

Wow you played combofiend!! thats fucking crazy.
There’s alot of things that i’ve learned from the vid so far, one being that Peter has terrible execution lol. But his mix-ups are incredible and thats something i need to work on. im still in shock that you played him. Do you only play sf4 on the 360?
To be honest i didn’t truly know how to use the flame kick outside of combos and crossups. I’ve only used viper for about a month and i’ve been using a fightstick for a little over a month now so it’s safe to say, i’m still learning. Thanks for the vid man, I really appreciate it.

I take my training seriously too, but I think this is also a good time to find other possible mains and train secondaries.

Anyway, I think I just improved my Viper significantly. In training mode, I was able to pull off her EX SeismicxxHJCxxBK combo twice in a row.

vs. OMFG It’s Jr.
Your Vega is one of the most refreshing, albeit frustrating, change of paces I’ve had in a while. No offense to other people I’ve fought from here, but it’s get old fighting almost nothing but Ryu, Akuma, and Balrog.

I’m mostly clueless on the Vega match, but I did get a number of strategies out of it like how to dodge your air grab. Unfortunately, our matches were a recreation of the Conquest of Mexico, but give me a few hundread years.

Your Sagat is nice, but almost every match started with a Tiger Shot which meant I could do Tostada on reaction.

Overall, great games, but I felt there was significant lag going on which may have been on my half because my college has semi-unstable wi-fi.

Haha thanks man. You’re balrog was really good, you’re Ryu was also really good but i’ve foughten more Ryus than balrogs so i somewhat know how Ryu works(i mained him as well). BlazBlue is an awesome game. I’ve been thinking about getting it but i’m in love with sf4. :stuck_out_tongue:
I hate MvC2. I can’t get the infites. I’m still practicing though.
I’m always down to spar! Just send me an invite!

Nonono not at all hahah. I just don’t really remember our match, you used cammy?..Let’s spar again so you can refresh my memory. :]

Hahahah well I remember some random person named Solerion out of the blue adding me to XBL then playing a session with me. I was thinking how did this person get my XBL tag then remember this thread.

Well I used mainly Akuma, but also used Cammy and El Fuerte

vs your Viper.

I think we went 11-8 (you) in our session.

Our last match was when I cannon spike, fadc(b), ultra you with Cammy… won then accidentally disconnected.
