Hey everyone. Another week, another update.

First off.

TEAMS HAVE BEEN CANCELED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST

Even with constant prodding, no one has made any effort to make teammates and pair up. I partially blame myself for encouraging this, but I also understand the number of current league matchups can be…daunting. In any case, we will only have singles from here on out.

Secondly

WE HAVE INCREASED THE TIME FROM 6 TO 8 MINUTES

I’ve received several complaints of time outs. Not many, but enough to warrant experimentation, and since this is a new league, I hope to keep fine tweaking for a while. For this week, we will go to 8 minutes to see if that fits better. PLease stop by the IRC to give me your opinion on the new change before Friday so I may consider this.

Thirdly

A WARNING TO ABSENT PLAYERS

Several of you have not been turning in your matches. However, unlike WizTick, these people(who I will not name because Cynt has yelled at you already) are still around enough. They just aren’t fighting much. We cannot have this, but we also don’t want to boot them out since they are here. Some may have schedule issues, some may have IRL problems. As such, I have no choice but to give losses to all parties involved, the absentees and the regulars. However, should this go on for another week and these people continue to be absent, I will have to remove you from the league for hindering the process. If this happens, all matches that week will be wins in favor of the non-absent person. These wins will also be retroactive, so if you were to supposed to have fought randomguy1235 last week and he gets booted this week, you will have won last week

Is the IRC down right now? The Mibbit link isn’t working for me atm.

Anyways, I’d like to make a suggestion in regards to custom moves. I think that prior to each match the players should inform each other the numbers of the customs that they are using. E.G I’m using Toon Link with Piercing Arrows, Floating Boomerang, Flying Spin Attack and regular bombs. That would be 3231 (neutral, side, up, down, the order that it appears when editing customs moves). Easy to remember and easy to refer to. It would still be up to the players to understand how their opponent’s customs work, but considering that different customs can change how you approach different situations or match-ups, I think it’d be better if we knew which ones our opponents were using in advance.

On that note, should we allow both players to change customs whenever or only allow the loser of a game to change customs? I’d suggest the latter.

Hmm. Maybe it’s a server thing or something on Mibbit’s end. Because that Mibbit link that’s in the OP is the one I’ve been using and it isn’t working for me atm.

Is there an alternate link I can use?

Same here. I keep getting time-out messages and can’t access the Mibbit client.

Maybe its a browser thing? I’m running Firefox, BTW.

When getting on with Chrome earlier it was giving me timeout messages since it was “taking too long to respond.” Now it’s saying that “Google Chrome’s connection attempt to client01.chat.mibbit.com was rejected.”

Tried it with Firefox just in case it’s a Chrome issue and got “Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at client01.chat.mibbit.com.” Presumably a similar issue.

So I dunno what the issue is, especially if Po is experiencing the same problem.

Change the “client01” portion of the URL to “client00”

See if that helps.

CG, Cyntalan, I think you should know that my situation is rapidly in flux right now. I might be able to complete this week’s league matches with some luck, but I cannot guarantee for how long I will be able to promptly tend to them. For now please consider me a league participant, but if I vanish for a week then remove me from all future weeks with my apologies in advance; award my opponents a win in such a case.

I think it’s best that I do this before I do any of my matches this week: I’m dropping from the league. I’m starting to feel burnt out on the game, and I’d rather play it on my own time, and not feel like I have to play this game (or else it’s gonna stop being fun).

I’ll still drop by the IRC once in a while, get some friendly games in, but for now I’m out.
