anyways: I beat LordWilliam in our items match today 2-0. And sunday night, Rayne defeated me 2-0 in our itemless match

RULES
We’ll have each tournament start as a Round Robin. Everyone fights everyone. The top 8 people with the best scores will advance to a single elimination format. Best 2 of 3. Grand, Winners, and Losers Finals best of 5 Until we figure out what the best time-stock ratio is, we’ll do 3 life, 6 minute stock battles. With matches that run the clock, we will determine by lower percent. If it’s a tie, like, say, in a Kirbycide at the last second leading to equal stocks at 0%, then there will be a 1 stock decision match on an agreed upon stage. If the game is a tie via suicide that claims BOTH characters, winner is the initiator.
ALL stages will be legal and first stage pick will be randomized. However, each side is allowed 4 bans for the first match. Second and third matches are losers pick.
Speaking of banning, Each player is allowed 5 bans on ITEMS in item tournaments. Items will be set to Low as a default. So if you don’t like Starmen, no starmen, but don’t complain to me that ‘Pokeballs take away all skill’
For teams, the number of bans is the same. Each TEAM gets 4 stage bans and 5 item bans.
Customizable moves will be legal and available. Equipment will not.
Lag issues bitching department are up on the 4th floor of this 2 story building. Unless BOTH PARTIES agree that the game is unplayable, you are expected to finish your match. If such a case occurs, we will figure out the best way to resolve this later.
I’m going to include the ‘gentleman’s ban’ option for everyone, at least until another solution or a consensus is reached. As a reminder, the gentleman’s ban lets you and your opponent choose whether or not play on/select certain stages and items. The gentleman’s ban will not come out of your main amount of bans. There is no limit on how many Gentleman Bans you are allowed, so long as both parties agree. But please note, do not abuse this power(Ban everything but Smoke Balls or Final Destination for example) or I will take it away. If one side does not agree, that’s the end of it. I don’t want to hear crap about someone ‘not letting’ anything through.

The idea of the ‘gentlemans ban’ is to soft ban these stages that everyone WOULD use their normal bans on. That way, while most people want Star Men off, the few who want them on will be allowed to do so, and when two players don’t want Star Men, neither of them has to wast a very important ban on that option. I highly encourage you to keep track of your own bans, but also to communicate with your opponent before connecting to make sure everything is established
Is there a limit to the number of Gentleman’s Bans allowed?
Not really. As I said, just don’t go overboard with it. If you want an arbitrary number, 10 for items and 7 for stages.
Why the week delay after the game drops?
To allow time to unlock everything. With customizeable moves being unlockable, as well as stages and characters, it’ll likely be a while to get everyone up to speed
Can I sign up for teams without a partner?
Sure. I encourage you to sign up first, partner up later. If we have an odd number, I can step in to fill the roll.
Why should we listen to you random guy on the internet?
Because I was the one who took the initiative to make the league that’s why. That being said, I’m gonna be honest: this is my first time doing this sort of thing and I would greatly appreciate some help. Someone who has done this before, I would greatly appreciate some input. In addition, in the coming weeks I may ask for people to aid me. Keeping track of brackets can be tough and though I have no life, I may not always be able to be there. About three of four people should be needed for now. Please lemme know if you want to help.
Are there prizes for the winners?

Fuck Smashboards, this is our league. If they’ve got a good idea and research behind them I will consider it like any other well thought out suggestion. But they don’t rule here, we do. Their word is not gospel.
Will there be streaming?
I’d like to, but I lack equipment. If we can, I wouldn’t mind if you guys took replays and sent them to me to make a YT playlist. But if someone wants to stream, go for it.
What if online play is terrible between us? What then
If the problem is a permanent one, we’ll address that as we get there.
When will the Wii U league start?
Since we don’t know when the Wii U game drops, can’t give you an estimate. But I will give it the same week delay I gave the 3DS version.

Except for the first meeting the week after the game drops, you are expected to have at least all characters and stages unlocked. Customization options are a little trickier, since that’s a lot of content to unlock. I will take a wait and see as far as applying a special grace period for that

Since this is midweek, we are going to reschedule Nephinel’s matches throughout the rest of the first loop of the season as The Martian.
