Well, I figured that since srk doesn’t have one yet. That I’d make one, so this topic will be for discussion of all things science. I don’t need people coming in here and talking about how they think creationism, or ID is how we got here on this planet. This is not a topic about religion, its a topic about SCIENCE! So without further ado, on with the topic. Discuss anything science related, from biology to physics etc… A few months ago at the UofA out here in tucson, they had a darwin day celebration. Which I proudly attended, it was alot of fun. Good to celebrate darwin’s work, that guy was a genius. I also have been trying to do some self learning on my own about science. Like reading issues of discover magazine or scientific american etc… Also one time I checked out a book on gailelo at the library, great read. I was just really frustrated about the things I read what the catholic church did to him. And then it takes the pope all the way till 1979, to appologize and say they treated him unfairly, wow. I of course know how newton also shook up science, in his time. Those ideas helped to shape and understand our world much more. Also if this topic becomes pretty popular then can can we get a mod to sticky it? Thanks, discuss away.

It’s funny that you mention that, I remember that show. But I don’t remember ever watching it.
That’s because everyone knows who Bill Nye the Science Guy is.
On a more serious note, I haven’t heard any news about the progress of repairs being made on the LHC at CERN. I’m curious to know what their timeline looks like. Also, any news about the collider here in the US that’s been gettting constant budget cuts? Is that thing still running even?

Mr. Wizard was aiight, but he didn’t have the catchy theme that Bill Nye had. I did learn about the properties of water and vacuums from Mr. Wizard. Whatever happened to good scientific programming for kids?

Immortality: Travel at/over the speed of light in a perfect vacuum.
that’s if you’re looking at the time aspect.
but what about on a genetic/organic level?
If there’s no increase in our chronological age, there wouldn’t be any experience. Without experience, would there be any process?
I guess it’s technically not immortality so much as putting yourself on pause, right?
