Nothing worse than reading your opponent correctly and then the river decides to make you its bitch.
you can play poker online in the U.S now? I thought they all shut down.
Is online poker even legit after what happened with howard lederer and Chris Ferguson? After talking to my bro, who happen to be a pro poker player for 10 years, he said he doesn’t trust online because he doesn’t want to risk losing his money by having some fucker that can see everyone’s cards. Is there some truth to this?
The superuser scandal on UB/AP certainly let people know it is possible.
Google Russ Hamilton and POTRIPPER.
Stars has been shown as trustworthy through the years.

A very important thing that I find people overlook: You make your money off of playing with scrubs. If you want to go to the pros then be prepared to grind a shit ton and lose money. Let’s say you’re mid tier, you’ll win a bunch by playing with low tier people so you feel like you are a top tier player. Once you move on to the top tier bench, you are now the bottom of the barrel. Choose accordingly.
Another thing to get ready for. Probability and statistics is important for your game, but remember those are still percentages and not guarantees. Even if you read correctly and get smashed due to luck do not let that derail your playstyle if the odds were heavily in your favor.
Fuck online for me then. I always had the urge to try online though. I even deposited $50 but didnt go through so i just didnt bother no more. Maybe that saved me time and losing money.

Live games for me. But I wont be able to play live for a while since my BR is shit and im getting surgery this week.
Thread revival.
I’ve been obsessed with poker ever since I started learning basic strategy for blackjack over the holiday season. With this interest my brother got me a poker book and some chips for christmas and I haven’t been able to put the game down since. It’s so much fun when you win, but once the cards aren’t going my way it really hurts. I’ve been constantly playing on that Zynga Poker app on Facebook, and it fucking annoys the hell out of me when guys go all in every single hand preflop. What is the point?
This game is a blast to play with friends. How do I know when I’m ready to try my luck at a casino? I often start out badly and then gain steam, so early losses make me paranoid of playing with more than spare change.
There is no KNOWING you’re ready to go to a casino. Only way to know is to go.
As someone with hundreds of million of chips in Zynga (lol), I can say that it’s not a very good way to get ready for real poker. However, it’s still very fun and addicting! The problem is like you mentioned, several people buy-in with 10 big blinds and go all-in with any ace or better. When looking for a table, make sure there are at least 3 to 4 people who are sitting down with 100 big blinds – that’s how much you should have also. These are the people you can try to play real poker with because they will not be willing to lose all those chips in one hand. And if they are willing, then you just hit the jackpot.
Learn the basics there. See if you can earn and maintain a few million chips. Before you go to the casino, make sure you do a lot a research and read a bunch of articles about live poker. Good luck!
Don’t play internet poker, especially fake chips. It will fuck up your game when you play live. I have been playing poker exclusively for a year or less now. Still trying to learn and get better. For beginners, it might be fun and shit, but when you get serious with it, it’s a stressful game. You have to deal with a lot of bullshit which a lot of people called it variance/tilt/suckout/cooler or them shit. I considered myself a scrub back then as you can see my posts above, but now I consider myself being able to compete at 2/5 table but doesn’t have the BR for it yet. I just play 1/2 now.
P.S tried online poker only once and decided its not for fun no matter how much I hear people say its easy or not rigged or w/e. For me, it’s rigged, but not gonna get into that shit. To each his own.
Btw, I still wonder whatever happened with this guy,

Wanderer, good to see you stuck with. Unfortunately, you now know that “fun” and “low limit” don’t go together lol.
ssjtin’s post already said it…don’t play as scared money cuz the low limits will require you to bring several buy ins. And losing money is just part of the game.
Skill wise, if you have good fundamentals (hand / position selection, hand reading, pot control), you will be ahead of most of the gamblers at the table. And you’ll know pretty soon after sitting down and watching the other players if you’re good enough.
book recommendation: How to Read Hands at No Limit Holdem by Ed Miller. The info can be found in articles and youtube videos, but it’s nice to have most of it in one place. It’s a good test to see if you are thinking beyond an intro level. It’s expensive, though, so use your google fu to find the “cheap” pdf copy online.
Phil Hellmuth

No wonder EVO isn’t at RIO this year. The final table (final 9) in the WSOP is happening the same weekend as EVO
So Phil Hellmuth will win?
The 2013 world poker champion has been crowned. Coincidentially he’s the same age as Magnus Carlsen (probably going to be the 2013 world chess champion)
The results for the World Poker Championship 2014:
Martin Jacobson
Felix Stephensen
The results for the World Chess Championship 2014:

Can’t believe people still act like this today. This reminds me of the SF2 days
This casino (Graton) is close to my home town
Ohh, I just love poker and I’m happy to talk to you about it. I really enjoy playing poker since I was 15 and at some point I decided to try playing online poker in a casino. I found out where you can find lucrative bonuses in online casinos on the site https://www.slotsandgames.com/bonuses/ and began to regularly go to online casinos and play there and fortune often smiled at me. I can’t say I won 24/7, but anyway I got cool bonuses and it’s a cool way to spend time on the Internet instead of stupid TV shows. It’s a really cool experience, so you can try it but don’t lose control …
Look. Another bot
