3rd party roles are historically very weak compared to the collective Civilian or Mafia teams. Most likely there’s some kind of time-dealy on his kill ability, such as having to wait until night X to kill. As for your second case, that’s actually the more probable scenario in my opinion.
The Serial Killer victory condition you’re putting forth relies on him not getting killed, so the thought that his victory relies on him killing a role actually increases his chances. My theory, that he has to kill Sunny, assumes he’s a combination of two third party roles. The Serial Killer, as stated above, in which he must be the last man standing, and a role who’s win condition is seeing a specific player killed, usually by lynching.
With all this spare time I now have I went back and read through a bunch of the old mafia games and you seem to get killed really early whenever you aren’t mafia (aside from that weird vampire werewolf game), including getting night 1’ed last game
Ok that makes a lot of sense, and I could totally see that being the case. I guess I just had the role tied to the wesker role from RE in my head, so I didn’t think about win cons that aren’t just be the last alive. On a kinda unrelated note, LOL at both the beginning and end of that game. I feel so bad for forgedigger for having to GM that game.
Oh yeah, you don’t know the truth about that game, do you? Lando was Pimp and MP messaged Pimp on Steam saying something along the lines of:
“Are you in the game PW?”
“Nah, I sat this one out”
“OK good, cause I’m Mafia with two newbies. Should be good”

Anyone else noticed that from the way the killer is portrayed in the writeup it seems like the boyband members (mafia) recognized him when he kills them. This might be nothing to worry about and it’s just in game fluff so to speak and the killer is a known musician like the rest of us but what if the killer is also mafia but his role only allows him to win if he’s the last mafia standing?
Just a random thought of mine and the only difference I can see that this could make is that he might show up if the UC investigate him.
If we’re to take hints from the writeups, all the Mafia are dead. I believe the most recent writeup even said something rather blunt to that effect. That’s also the main reason I think the Killer’s win condition is to kill Sonny instead of to be the last man standing. I saw nothing in the writeups that would lead me to believe that this Killer wants to kill everyone else, and there’s one hint that he wants to kill the UC, so neither conclusion is strong at the moment. We’ll likely know more after another writeup.
A lot of the kills in this game have been strange. It’s always odd when some players are left alive too long. I’ve wondered about Chief, and I thought, there’s no way he hasn’t been cleared by the UC. I’ve become quite comfortable myself as the phases go on.
@skizz I am suspicious of you. Keep helping, though. Old buddy once pointed out I had trouble changing my mind once I’ve made it up. Been working on not making snap judgements.
