Ironically, in his haste to start the game he accidentally misread your post and, in an effort to start the game quickly, left you out. I don’t see how he can let you back in at this point, he’s already sent out roles and has officially begun the game. If nothing else you should be able to be an alternate though, and as Chief pointed out a while back, every game so far has had a DQ.

Again, the reason I made the comment in the sign-up thread about not wanting to play was because he hadn’t given me a role. I PM’ed asking about it and he didn’t respond. Being that my role wasn’t important enough to even tell me about, I would assume it was roleless civ ( which I’m fine with ). So how would that mess up the game? I mean I guess mafia would have someone to lynch for free. How’s one more role-less going to hurt, that’s what it was supposed to be anyway right?

There are several reasons you can not directly begin to participate.
If you just assume you are ‘roleless’ and your participation pretty much confirms this then civilians get a quasi-confirmed role via the GM. That’s obviously not kosher.
It’s pretty explicit in the rules that once roles are released (and at the time it was made public that roles had been released) you cannot withdraw from the game. The better path would have been to post in the thread saying you had not received a role. This would have been clearer to all parties and may have meant that Icege would have understood what you wanted. You would have also had the other players understanding of the situation.
Waiting for Icege to jump back into the stream but at this point it looks like the best result you can expect is to be an alternate.
As far as I know when he made the post about “sending out roles now” or something, he still didn’t actually send out roles until several hours later. Regardless, at this point every role is assigned to a player. If he adds you in now then he either has to make you roleless civilian or roleless Mafia because otherwise he’s added another ability to a closed system. If he tells us “Uh, we have a new role in the game” or “Well, you see, I felt the Mafia needed one more player” then we know it’s you. If he doesn’t then it’s either a secret role (making this an odd combination of a closed and open game) or you’re roleless civ/Mafia, and we’ll likely lynch you for the small chance that you’re Mafia.
I think it’s cause Icege started it midday in America, which means most people are still at work/out. If you really wanna spark something we could make more crazy accusations.
I didn’t explain in the thread that I hadn’t received a role in an effort to not give any info any. Again, I did however PM Icege that he hadn’t sent me anything yet.
What’s not to say that I’m a role-less mafia? The thing is the role WEREN’T released, Icege just fucked up on his job. And I never even withdrew, all I said was that I didn’t think Icege would be able to handle the game. As far as I can tell, it was a pretty accurate prediction.
What’s not to say that Icege didn’t actually send out roles when he said he did. Also, there is no roleless Mafia. For Icege to add in another Mafia would change the balance of the game at this point, and would be obvious if he told us he added another Mafia that it’s you.
This “pre-game Jesus Toast” though is getting to be damn ridiculous though.
Guys, at what point has pre-game toast ever worked? Show of hands, anyone ever found mafia before the game starts?
Despite my desire to stream PW for spoiling Anchorman 2 (Whether he really did or not), I’m going to withhold my emotions from playing a role in how I play this game.
Time to get all objective and shit and find people based on how this game plays out.

Defend it all you want, and blame Icege for everything while you’re at it, but at the end of the day you chose to handle it poorly and there is no feasible way for you to be allowed to join immediately.
In future, post “Hey @GMName, I haven’t received my role yet. ding ding ding”. Or just don’t say anything and wait for the GM to get back to you. There is no reason to post in the thread that you want to quit, it’s not like anyone else would have known you didn’t have your role yet. Not receiving a role due to oversight isn’t necessarily an indication of you being roleless. All roles are pre-assigned and hen sent out. So he could have skipped over the UC or something by accident.
But yeah, tl;dr stop posting until Icege resolves your status.
He made another post later saying that all of the roles had been sent. I sent him a PM telling him that I was left in the dark, waited a couple of hours for a response, didn’t get one, then expressed my frustration in the sign-up thread. I never said that I wasn’t plaing anymore. I’m not asking him to make up any new role or anything. But if I was just a role-less civ/mafia/whatever, that’s what the game was originally supposed to be anyway. I fail to see how me being in the game will throw off the “balance of the game” ( DLC characters are allowed at EVO right? ) especially seeing as how the only real discussion that’s taken place so far has been me trying to remind the fucking tourny organizer that I signed-up.
In the All-Star game I said Pimp was Mafia. My conviction was so strong that PW pleaded with Alpha to change his allegiance just so I would be right.
